Stampin' Up! Dandy Wishes Birthday Card with Free Tutorial

After posting my top 9 photos of 2021 on Instagram yesterday, I realised I had never shared the completed card which had the teaser blended panel. Opps!
I made the panel for a Dandy Wishes birthday card for a free tutorial with some new Stampin' friends I met on one of my online international training groups.

You may have seen this sneak peak online forever ago (or recently in my top 9 round up 🤣)


This is the finished card and as I like to do, I decorated the envelope and the inside of the card as well!

Stampin Up Darling Donkey Cards with Free Instructions

Anyhow, I CASED all four of the cards and used products I had at home to recreate them.

Here's my take on them:

I've used darling donkey stamp set, brights designer series paper, stampin' blends and faux resin dots as my main products to work with. 

You're the best! card


I decorated the inside of all the cards, much the same as each another. With a basic donkey outline image (no colouring) and I used excess DSP to decorate the inside where possible.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #26 Lovely Lipstick

Our twenty sixth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is lovely lipstick from the 2018 - 2020 in color collection. I have chosen lovely lipstick, pineapple punch and basic grey from the color coach to work with today.
I've used the fun colour combination today to create a camera birthday card. Perfect for the selfie tween and teen birthdays my kids go to. The envelope punch board came in handy to create the base of my camera. I started with a piece of basic gray cardstock 12cm x 8cm (4 3/4" x 3 3/16") and the envelope punch board. I made a tab at the top by lining up the cardstock (the left hand side) 3.8cm (1 1/2") and punched (then I flipped the card over and repeated it on the other side to create an even tab.) Trim off the excess cardstock using paper trimmer and round the corners (if you wish). I added a strip of 5cm (2") wide designer series paper for added colour.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #20 Gorgeous Grape

Our twentieth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is gorgeous grape from the brights collection. I have chosen gorgeous grape, early espresso and granny apple green from the color coach to work with today.

I made today's card for my eldest daughters birthday (she turned 14 last week) and when thinking of what to make for her card, a mobile phone (cell phone) was top of my list. Her mobile is always close by (and if she is not on that it's her laptop!) Teenagers! 

I made a shaker panel for the mobile phone portion of the card and again used the retired large number framelits. Don' forget the numbers from the broadway bound speciality designer series paper are a great substitute when you need numbers (except I needed larger numbers for my phone image.) I stamped the background with buffalo check in gorgeous grape for some added interest as well. A simple happy birthday sentiment (from picture perfect birthday stamp set) punched out with the classic label punch completed the greeting and finished off the card nicely.

To create your own mobile phone shaker card, cut a 11.3cm x 6.6cm (4 7/16" x 9/16") rectangle and cut out a 8.7cm x 5.7cm (3 3/8" x 2 1/4") approx. 1cm (3/8") from the top. Mat it on a 12cm x 7.2cm (4 3/4" x 2 3/4") rectangle. Round all the corners if you wish.
Use punched circles to create a button at the bottom of the phone (I used a 3/8" circle and one from the owl punch, sadly both retired Stampin' Up! punches). 

To complete the inside of the card, I googled and found a verse that had words about Facebook and Twitter but Nikki doesn't use those. I modified it to read what she does you and included this inside the card:
"I thought about texting you, snapchatting you or tagging you on Instagram, but some things are better the old-fashioned way… so I emailed you instead!"
Made both her and I giggle and she appreciated my lack of social media tagging.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #19 Garden Green

Our nineteenth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is garden green from the regals collection. I have chosen garden green, early espresso and so saffron from the color coach to work with today.

The colour colour garden green really stumped me for a while this week. Everything I was thinking off had green as the minority and not the focus and I kept on dismissing idea after idea. Eventually I settled on stamping a buffalo check pattern and decided to add in some lines with stampin' write markers to bring in the early espresso and so saffron and make my own DSP. I still had no idea what I was going to do with my DSP other than I was going to use it on my card some how!

After abandoning my card for a while, the John Deere logo/colours came to me. They were close to the colours I was using and I decided to try and make a punch art tractor to work with my DIY background paper. I went with a quick and easy typewriter sentiment for simplicity to complete the card.


To recreate the punch art tractor, these are the following punches (or substitutes) I used:
Letter “L” from large letter framelits for the seat (so saffron)
Letter “T” from little letters thinlets dies for the steering wheel (retired) (early espresso)
4cm x 3.5cm (1 10/16” x 1 3/8”) rectangle for the tractor body (cut the left hand side off with paper snips and round top right hand corner off) (garden green)
Layering circles framelits for the wheels (except the smaller so saffron circle is the 3/4” circle punch and [retired] 3/8” circle is used for the very centre of the wheels) (early espresso and so saffron)
Classic label punch for the back panel and roof section (garden green)
0.6cm (1/4”) strip of cardstock for the chimney cut on the trimmer and cut on an angle with paper snips (early espresso)

Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas #8 2018

Welcome to week 8 of Heart of Christmas blog hop. Are you getting inspired by the different idea you are seeing each week? 
This week, I am hosting the blog hop for Claire and have links to all ladies participating after my card. Be sure to scroll down and stop by and see what everyone is sharing this week.

I have a pocket card to share this week. Perfect for stashing money, tattslotto tickets, scratchies or even photos.


To make your own pocket card, use the envelope punch board and make an envelope to suit a 10.5cm x 14.8cm card (4 1/2" x 5 1/2") and cut off the top flap. Using a 23cm (9") x 5cm (2") strip of merry merlot cardstock, punch both ends in the scallop tag topper punch. Score one side of the cardstock at 8cm (3 1/8") and wrap around the envelope until you reach the other side of the envelope and wrap the remaining cardstock around the front of the card. Adhere in place and tie together using white bakers twine.
Optional: Adhere a card behind the pocket to allow the card to stand up.

Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas #1 2018

Last year, I joined with fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators and we shared a Christmas card every week. It is now time to do it all again and here we are again for week 1.


To make my triple panel fancy fold card I scored a piece of 5^1/2” x 8^1/2”cardstock at 2”, 3^1/8”, 5^3/8”, 6^1/2”
It is crazy how a couple of score lines make such a wow factor!

Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper Blog Hop

I have used the Under the Mistletoe designer series paper for both my projects today. I love how the one pack of Christmas paper has some many varied patterns and different looks to create many stunning projects. 
I have two projects to share today and both were made using the simply scored scoring tool. While you can get a metric plate for the scoring tool, today I only used the original board on it's own.


Project 1 is a gift bag that you can slip the ribbon off sideways to make it reusable. I love how the gift bag makes the large print designer series paper a statement piece without being obnoxious. 

I made my gift bag in an unusual way. I took a 8.5" x 12" of designer series paper and scored (and adhered it together) to create an open box and then used another small piece of designer series paper to create the flap (that I added on afterwards.) While this is not the traditional way to made a "bag" it saves designer series paper as usually you cut away a lot of excess paper and have small sections leftover with score lines.

Blue = adhesive, red = cut lines & green = paper you cut off and discard
Opps, I just noticed, I forgot to add adhesive lines for the base of the gift bag. My apologises!
 
Project 2 is an ornament made with real red cardstock and 1" pieces of designer series paper. I left the top of my ornament unsealed and closer to Christmas I may sneak some lollies or a small gift inside as a surprise for the recipient.
