Try it Thursday #24 - Triple Diamond Point Card with Trees for Sale Stamp Set & Tree Lot Dies

I was cruising 'round Facebook the other day and saw this cracker of a card that fellow Aussie SU demo Linda Dalke made and I fell in love with it. I did my best to recreate her card and added it onto a Triple Diamond Point card for some added wow. The card uses Trees for Sale stamp set from the July - December mini catalogue and it also coordinates with the Tree Lots dies that are available as a sale-a-bration freebie if you spend $180+. Sale-a-bration freebies begin on orders from $90+.

A tip that saved on die cutting the caravan many times over, I used a sharpie (black and silver) to colour in the caravan tyre and jockey wheel so I didn't have to keep on die cutting the caravan many times over.  

My card measures 6" x 6" so I made a custom envelope to suit and of course I had to decorate the envelope, along with the inside of the card.

Try it Thursday #23

Everytime I post a new Try it Thursday post, I swear I probably write "it's been a while since the last time I shared a The it Thursday creation..." I intend to post them more often but you all know how life is!

Today's card was CASED from Anne Marie Hile. Her's was a pink Christmas card but as you will see I made my card an aqua blue 15th birthday card. The stitched stars dies were originally available in the 2019 Holiday Catalogue but they are one of the many items that are still available in the carry over list. Try it Thursday #22 - Shaving Cream Galaxy Technique mixed with Faux Fabric ATCs

A fellow Aussie Stampin' Up! demonstrator (and her husband), came up with this shaving cream galaxy technique by accident. I am so glad they did as it looks amazing. When I gave it a go, prior to making my many imprints, I was trying to quickly pass the time so I could finish playing with the technique. Of course, I had all these wonderful samples as I wasn't sure what to do with them at first. Little by little, I have been using them on cards and ATC's.

I started writing this post a long time ago and made my initial batch of samples back when dapper denim was an in colour (2016 - 2018) and have since made a new batch of samples featuring balmy blue and blueberry bushel. I used them on the background of my faux fabric ATC's. I've used the subtle 3D embossing folder for the faux fabric look (so it is a little hard to see) but it gives a fabulous texture.

Try it Thursday #21 - Stampin' Up! All Adorned Butterfly Beauty Thinlet Card

I loved the colours Mary Deatherage used on the background on this card and recreated it myself using the same stamp set (All Adorned Photopoylmer Stamp Set), from sale-a-bration) as well. The only difference was I left a tiny portion in the top left and bottom right corners white. For my die cut, I used the stunning butterfly beauty thinlet and cut off two of the butterflies and used two of the smaller die cut images on my card also. A few basic rhinestone jewels along with a cardstock matt and top folding card and a pretty quick and easy card is done!


I've left the front sentiment-less and the inside reasonably neutral so it can be used for any occasion. A perfect addition for my card box!

Try it Thursday #20 - Stampin' Up! Shoes & Shopping Birthday Card

I was recently asked to make a birthday card for someone who loves shopping and shoes and to incorporate the words "oh shit" on it (as she apparently uses those words a lot. After being stumped (I think it was the wording) I turned to the internet for inspiration and found an image that heavily inspired my own creation (including the colours) but sadly I can no longer find the original source to link to (inspiration image is shown further below).


You will notice I didn't use the words on the outside of the card as I couldn't bring myself to ruin a pretty creation with the wording. I hid the wording inside the card with the rest of the greeting (which I did not photograph).

I used the Stampin' Up! colour coach to find my colour combination with Balmy Blue as my starting colour and mixed it with Poppy Parade & Crushed Curry.

Today's painted glass card is CASED by fellow Stampin' Up! demo Kylie Bertucci. I barely changed anything except used a birthday sentiment and daffodil delight cardstock. If its a good thing, something there is no need to make changes!
It was very therapeutic colouring in the shapes. Perfect to take to my kids sport activities. I just had the card front and stampin' blends in full wide stamp case and tucked it in my handbag. The stamp case was great for protecting my card front but also gave me a great surface to colour in.

Try it Thursday #16 - Pineapple Gift Box

It was my SIL's birthday celebration this past weekend and we have a bit of a running joke in the family. If you don't know what you want, you get told you will receive a pineapple and a spoon. My SIL's wish list wasn't past on so I made her a pineapple (that hid money) and chocolate spoons as her gift. I used this link for my pineapple gift box.

The gift box was well received and will add to her collection of handmade boxes I have made her in the past.

Try it Thursday #15 - Large Origami Gift Pouch featuring Stampin' Up! Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper

Today's "Try it Thursday" create is an origami gift pouch which I used for my mother in laws gift on Mothers Day. It is quite a large pocket with the pocket portion measuring 13cm x 17.5cm (5" x 7") and made from a 12" x 12" piece of designer series paper.
One thing the video didn't say clearly to me was to after you fold the DSP in half, fold the right hand side of the triangle over to the 18cm (7") mark and then it is a lot easier to make your left hand fold. (I originally tried folding it at 6" and it was an awkward shape that had bits of paper where they shouldn't have been!)

As I mentioned in this post, I don't own any mothers day stamps so I printed a sentiment and used framelits to cut it out.
