Stampin' Up! Many Layered Blossoms Birthday Card

Our thirty fifth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "pool party" from the subtles collection. I have chosen pool party, calypso coral and highland heather from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 

For my card today I have used the many layered blossoms die, which is a favourite of mine. I love seeing how I can make it look different each time I use it.
Today, I fussy cut away the excess cardstock from the right hand side of the card so the inside of the card peeks through.
I've used the adhesive sheets to stick the many layered blossom die down with ease and stamped happy birthday from Zany Zebras. I've also cut very fine strips of calypso coral cardstock (that have adhesive sheets on the back) to highlight the birthday sentiment. I finished off the card front with pool party faux resin dots.

Inside card - I've used the you are amazing stamp set and hand drawn highland heather lines on basic white cardstock using a stampin' blend to create my own DSP.

Stampin' Up! Pointillism ATC with Wildly Happy Stamp Set

Last month I took part in our team ATC swap and made some Pointillism ATC's. It was fun trying to work out what to use that I thought would be different to everyone else! All of us taking part, used completely different stamp sets and our ideas are so different from one and another. Some of us coloured inside the shape like I did, while others did the colour outside words/images.   


The bullet tip point on Stampin' Blends are perfect for the pointillism technique and made it very quick and easy to make these ATC's. I look forward to teaching a techniques class with this technique in the near future.

Stampin' Up! Quick and Simple Striped Background Birthday Card

Our thirtieth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is night of navy from the neutrals collection. I have chosen night of navy, rich razzleberry and coastal cabana from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 


For my card today, I decided to create a striped background with my trio of colours from the colour coach and focus on gold and white elements to not distract from the busyness of the background.
To create a quick and easy stripe background, use the adhesive sheets and pre cut all your strips ahead of time. I needed 8 of each colour and had excess to cut off! My strips are 1/4" wide which is approx. 6mm.
I die cut the letters H and B from my electronic die cutting machine and popped them up using foam adhesive tape. I stamped happy birthday in black staz on on the gold foil and punched it out using the classic label punch and also popped it up with foam adhesive tape. I finished off the card with night of navy faux resin dots.

Stampin' Up! Last Minute Gift Boxes Using Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper

I made these last minute gift boxes for my niece and nephew using the 3, 2, 1 box from here and stashed some Christmas cash inside them but I love how they can be used for any small goodies. I used my sponge brayer to colour white tissue paper with pretty peacock ink so it matched the inside of the boxes (I doubt they noticed) but hey, I liked knowing it matched!


Just so you know, I am kicking myself that the gold ribbon is twisted (but I can't retake the photos as I have given the boxes to my niece and nephew now).


I love the extra touch of the DSP around the money, I think it adds an extra special touch, don't you?

Stampin' Up! Re-colour your DSP and make new papers into Thank You Cards

Our twenty ninth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "mossy meadow" from the neutrals collection. I have chosen mossy meadow, flirty flamingo and coastal cabana from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 


I begun with a mint macaron sheet of designer series paper from the ornate garden specialty designer series paper (DSP) and a blending brush (coming in the upcoming January - June 2021 mini catalogue) and I re-coloured my designer series paper to mossy meadow. I loved the gorgeous design but the colour just wasn't working for me today. You can use other tools to colour the paper, blending brushes just happen to be my new favourite! (Sponges/sponge daubers, brayers etc. also work.)
After I had my mossy meadow DSP, I cut it on an angle along with some coastal cabana from the brights DSP pack (truthfully it was a scrap left over which is why it is smaller than the others!) and finished off with some flirty flamingo cardstock. I kept the flirty flamingo "plain" as I had planned for the sentiment to be on the bottom right hand side of the card.
I used the well written framelits for the sentiment and my faux resin dots in mossy meadow.

Stampin' Up! Poinsettia Place DSP Christmas Card with Curvy Dies

I have again used the curvy dies (for this weeks Making Merry Monday) from the Quite Curvy Bundle or the Quite Curvy Variety Bundle and they are becoming a fast favourite. This week, I paired them with the Poinsettia Place DSP. I love that you don't need the coordinating dies or the stamp set (but by no means, you can certainly still purchase them!) and with some fussy cutting you can make a cheap, wow poinsettia card.


I created a curvy edged card using the curvy dies and I love the peek a boo it offers into the inside of the card. The curvy dies are fabulous at creating the curvy edges and the "offcut" that you get from the DSP can also be used to decorate the inside of the card.

Colour Creations #20 - Gray Granite

Our twentieth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "gray granite" from the neutrals collection. I have chosen gray granite, mossy meadow and blushing bride from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 

Today I have tried to make an elegant sympathy card with a paper toile design. I have stamped the focal image in gray granite ink, 3 times and fussy cut the top two layers subtracting parts of the design each time. I stamped the sentiment also in gray granite ink and completed the remaining portion of the sentiment with a triple layered die cut also in gray granite cardstock. 
I used the lid of my blushing bride stampin' write marker (and the marker) to create delicate splatters randomly in my background of my whisper white card front and added faux resin dots to echo the random splatters.

Inside card - I had another magnolia left (from stamping on the stamparatus) so I fussy cut it out and popped it up with stampin' dimensionals to create a basic paper toile effect much like the card front. I also added the same blushing bride splatters using the stampin' write markers only concentrated with the focus more on the bottom section of the card

Colour Creations #18 - Gorgeous Grape

Our eighteenth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "gorgeous grape" from the brights collection. I have chosen gorgeous grape, petal pink and cajun craze from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
Here is my gorgeous grape card from 2018. 

For my card today I used the brick & motar 3D embossing folder and the Stampin' Cut Emboss Machine finished with a sponge dauber in cajun craze ink to create a realistic brick wall. I added a strip of basic grey cardstock to mimic a concrete top on the brick wall and vines from the butterfly beauty dies in granny apple green to look like a garden overgrowing the brick wall. I added the butterfly beauty double layer dies as my main focal image and stamped "Just thinking of you" from Many Mates stamp set.    To make the cloud background, I have a 12" cloud cardstock "die" I purchased a long time ago but you can make one using layering circles dies or circle punches overlapping. I used the cloud die and sponge dauber at different angles to create my card background. 


Finally after all that description, here is today's card...


Close up - I covered the gorgeous grape butterflies with wink of stella for added shine.


Inside card - I just got a new order with the "Here's a card" stamp set (purchased in the 15% off sale last week) and I wanted to use the "I made you a card because you're worth it" sentiment but it was smaller than I needed for my card (as my card measures 6" x 6" or 15.2cm x 15.2cm) so I typed my sentiment on the computer and used the fonts, Ballada and Helvetica Neue.

Custom Envelope for a Slimline Card

Do you remember when I shared this Daffodil Delight card? Well it was my attempt at a slimline card (my version was 17.5cm x 10cm) and I didn't have an envelope for it. Since I made the card, it has been sitting on the side of my desk waiting for an envelope. I finally got around to making one and used some old DSP as it matched the card perfectly.


I have included a diagram of my envelope sketch. As you can see, I begun with a piece of 23cm x 23.5cm DSP and scored it at 5.5cm and 16.5cm and rotated it 90 degrees and scored it at 2.5cm and 21cm. I then did angle cuts (as shown in red) and cut away the pink areas.


I am happy I now have an envelope for my emoji birthday card and a sketch for reference for when I make another card/envelope this size again. Hopefully, this helps you if you make a card this size as well. 

Colour Creations #15 - Early Espresso

Our fifteenth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "early espresso" from the neutrals collection. I have chosen early espresso, cherry cobbler and so saffron from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
Here is my early espresso card from 2018. 

For my card this week I decided long ago to make block of chocolate card as early espresso screams chocolate to me. When Kate  make her chocolate version a few weeks ago for crumb cake I was not going to be swayed in my decision. So if you think you are seeing a repeat, you kind of are. I'd also like to say thanks to Tina for the "chocolate" die cuts as I don't own the love you more than dies and she cut a whole stack for me and mailed them to me so I could finish me creation. 
My chocolate "squares" which aren't squares at all, LOL measure 2.5cm x 2cm and 2cm x 1.5cm on a 13.5cm x 9cm early espresso layer. I have used a layer of chipboard packaging between the two early espresso rectangles to give a more realistic look and depth to the chocolate blocks on the overall card.


I used 'Tis The Season DSP (and normal aluminium kitchen foil) to create the "packaging" for the chocolate bar and I love how many of the sheets from this DSP don't read Christmassy and can be used for other things (like this chocolate bar 😀.) I finished off the card with a label created from painted label dies and the chocolate word die from love you more than dies.
Did you know that if you ever get someone else to die cut dies for you, ask them to cut them in whisper white and you can make them any colour you like using the sponge brayers or daubers and ink pads.

Inside card - as mentioned above I don't own the love you more than dies nor do I own the nothing better than stamp set so I improvised for the inside of the card. I typed the "I thought you might need some ____ today." and left a blank space for the die cut word chocolate. I used the font Andale Mono (size 14) and used the hex code (#64412C) for early espresso coloured font.
