Stampin' Up! Around the Bend Birthday Tri Fold Card

Hi and welcome to another round of the colour creations blog hop. 
For this weeks blog hop, we are focusing on the colour, Berry Burst.
If you remember, from previous years I like to work with the color coach Stampin' Up! provides to add a challenge to my card creations.
This week, I have chosen berry burst, lost lagoon and peach pie from the colour coach to work with. 

I created a tri fold card using the Around the Bend dies and Basic White cardstock. I coloured the leaf die cuts on the tri fold section using Lost Lagoon Stampin' Blends. I then added a Happy Birthday sentiment in a die cut circle from Everyday Details die. I added in some extra leaves and a flower both from the Around the Bend dies. The striped designer series paper is from Unbounded Beauty. I finished off the card with rhinestone basic jewels. 

If you are wondering where I got the Happy Birthday stamp from, I used a Stampin' Write marker and selectively inked parts of the Happily word in the "Here's to Beautiful beginnings and Happily ever afters" stamp and then stamped the "Birthday" from the "Happy Birthday" stamp from the Something Fancy stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Criss Cross Lattice Card with Thoughtful Expressions

For this weeks blog hop, we are focusing on the colour, summer splash.

If you remember, from previous years I like to work with the color coach Stampin' Up! provides to add a challenge to my card creations.
This week, I have chosen summer splash, soft sea foam and calypso coral from the colour coach to work with. 

My card today was inspired by Bibi Cameron, she created a stunning lattice card and I couldn't help CASE it.
I created my criss cross lattice out of soft sea foam cardstock and used the Hummingbird from Thoughtful Expressions stamp set. I coloured it in with basic colouring using Stampin' Blends. I hand cut the grass from granny apple green cardstock and used the celebrate die from wanted to say dies to add a sentiment to the card. I finished off the card front with some basic rhinestone jewels.
Unusually for me, I left the inside of the card completely blank. I didn't want anything peaking through the front of the card and I didn't want to hide it behind the elements on the card front either.

Stampin' Up! Trusty Tools Painters Theme Birthday Card

If you remember, from previous years I like to work with the color coach Stampin' Up! provides to add a challenge to my card creations.
This week, I have chosen shy shamrock, misty moonlight and pecan pie from the colour coach to work with. 

I have created a painting themed birthday card using the brush from trusty tools. I used this brush to make a tone on tone background in Shy Shamrock and have it mimic the painting of the watercolored strip in Misty Moonlight ink. I also tried to create a "painted" Happy Birthday from Wanted to Say dies in which I used the Shy Shamrock Stampin' Up! Blends. I found this colour combination very challenging this week and my card went through many changes before I settled on its finished design I was happy with.

Stampin' Up! Sympathy Card with Simply Zinnias Stamp Set

Hi and welcome to another round of the colour creations blog hop. 
For this weeks blog hop, we are focusing on the colour, pretty in pink.

If you remember, from previous years I like to work with the color coach Stampin' Up! provides to add a challenge to my card creations.

This week, I have chosen pretty in pink, blackberry bliss and smoky slate from the colour coach to work with. I have created a sympathy card using the stunning simply zinnia stamp set with the everyday details dies. I coloured in the zinnia with Stampin' Blends and used the partial die cutting technique to leave the stems of the flowers attached as I die cut the circle die. I ran the everyday details die through the my Stampin' Cut and Emboss on my pretty in pink cardstock so it wasn't completely plain. I also used another die from the same set for the sentiment which is from Something Fancy stamp set. I finished off my card with some pearls.

Stampin' Up! Attention Shoppers Cut and Flip Card

Hi, we are starting a new round of colour creations blog hops and I am trying to get back into the swing of my weekly colour creations cards again. 
For this weeks blog hop, we are focusing on the colour, peach pie.
If you remember, from previous years I like to work with the color coach Stampin' Up! provides to add a challenge to my card creations.


This week, I have chosen peach pie, calypso coral and misty moonlight from the colour coach to work with. 

I have created a cut and flip card, I cut a section off the front of the card and I rotated that cut off piece 90°and adhered it back in place onto the card as the panel the shopping trolley/cart sits on and also has a faux silk panel for texture. On the flap I adhered a piece of Peach Pie Unbounded Beauty DSP which matched really well with the calypso coral cardstock. To bring in more misty moonlight onto my card, I added in card flap under the shopping trolley/cart. It is also a great place to put a gift card once the card is fully opened up (if I choose at a later date). I did choose to leave my card with no sentiment, although a birthday sentiment would work great with this card but I feel leaving it blank means if you need to cheer someone one up, this card is perfect.

Stampin' Up! Pretty Pleats 6" x 6" Inked Botanicals Card

The inked and tiled punches made fun, quick and easy punched shapes for the front of the card especially when paired with Inked Botanicals DSP. I also used a sponge dauber to make the multi coloured flower which is from the Inked and Tiled stamp set (which I also used on the inside of the card and to decorate the envelope).  
I also used the Inked Botanicals DSP for the pretty pleats inside my card.

Stampin' Up! Delightfully Eclectic This or That Card with Heartfelt Hellos Stamp Set

I made the below card on the right for a techniques class (using DSP for a card base with a pocket inside the card) and was pretty happy with my card but then I decided to make a second version so I add it to my stash to give to my grandmother and I think I love it even more with the cajun craze cardstock under the DSP. What do you think, which card do you like best? 

I used Heartfelt Hello stamp set from the sale-a-bration free stamps and omitted the word "Mother's" from the stamp and used the mini alphabet dies to spell out the word birth to give more versatility to the stamp set. I can see me getting a lot of use out of the stamp set even after sale-a-bration as the "Thinking of you this Easter" stamp can just be Thinking of you. Stampin' Up! Strip & Flip Cards with Designer Series Papers

Do you have a lot of DSP strips left over and not know what to do with them? I was inspired by Heidi Collins to make these cards as these cards are a great way to use up your DSP and are fun to make. I made 3 different sized cards all with similar DSP strips and different coloured matts/card bases and sentiments to see if they would look very different from one another with small changes.

Stampin' Up! 21st Paintball Inspired Overlapping Fold Birthday Card

My eldest son was attending a 21st paintball birthday party and wanted a birthday card. I was up for the challenge to try and make a themed card and here's what I made.
I found an old camouflage background I had made a while ago (before the colour refresh as it has old olive, sahara sand and soft suede inks for the technique) and also used a stencil with various paint splats I had stashed away with the blending brushes and 7 different inkpads and created what I call an overlapping fold card.
