Stampin' Up! Hey Birthday Chick Bundle Birthday Card

Our forty third colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "terracotta tile" from the 2019 - 2021 in color collection.
You may have noticed we are out of alphabetical order this week compared normal. We had to bring terracotta tile forward a few weeks to fit it in before the colour officially retires. Next week, we will be back to our usual alphabetical order. 

I have chosen terracotta tile, petal pink and merry merlot from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. I've also added in some coastal cabana and so saffron.

I have used the paint chip technique for the background of my card focusing on the three main colours I am using and randomly stamped them with the "confetti" stamp from Hey Birthday Chick. I have also used the outlined die cut letters technique to create a white shadow around the "happy birthday" and "chick" words. I have used the "shadow" stamp from painted poppies for the muted textured on my balloons. I stamped in onto shimmery white cardstock in terracotta tile/coastal cabana and so saffron inks and fussy cut it out. 
I stamped the baby chick in memento and coloured it in with a variety of stampin' blends and stampin' write markers. I also popped it up on the card in the bottom right hand corner. I finished the card off with some basic rhinestone jewels. 


Inside card - I again used more stamps from the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set and also coloured the images in with a variety of stampin' blends and stampin' write markers.

Stampin' Up! Playful Alphabet Chocolate Slider Box with Playing with Patterns DSP

Our thirty ninth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "purple posy" from the 2019 - 2021 in color collection. I have chosen purple posy, pool party and smoky slate from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
I have made a chocolate slider box this week instead of a card. I find they are perfect to have on hand for teenagers to hand out with some cash inside (taped to the block of chocolate) for birthdays. It's more than just cash but not a huge embarrassing (or unwanted gift) to hand over.
I've made the slider box in purple posy cardstock and have used the gorgeous grape inkpad and dauber to add some depth to the edges (I've also use gorgeous grape ink and dauber on the playing with patterns DSP). I matted the purple posy DSP with smoky slate cardstock and used the playful alphabet dies with foam adhesive sheets for dimension and height. I also added in my faux resin dots in purple posy onto the DSP. 
I finished off the chocolate slider box with a mini gift card and purple posy linen thread to act as the slider with pool party cardstock as the handle.

Stampin' Up! Advanced Chevron Fold with Flower and Field Designer Series Paper and Floral Gallery Dies

I'm a bit late blogging January's class cards as February's classes are already up running (we are using the Gilded Leafing this month) but it's a fun card to share. I focused on the Advanced Chevron fold and this is on of the cards everyone made. The other card was a variation of my Granny Apple Green card from the Colour Creations blog hop.

Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue Card CASE featuring Playful Alphabet Dies with Brights Designer Series Paper

Our thirty second colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is pacific point from the brights collection. I have chosen pacific point, granny apple green and daffodil delight from the colour coach to work with today. 

For my card today, I turned to the annual catalogue for inspiration as it is a great source for ideas as well as a catalogue and CASED my card from there. First up, you will see the card I have CASED before you see my version. The card shown below is from the 2020 - 2021 annual catalogue, page 100 ©2020 Stampin' Up!®.


My version of the card:


I have used the brights designer series paper (daffodil delight) to create the strips of paper "woven" in between the stitched rectangles dies frame. I have also used the brights designer series paper (pacific point) as strip of paper in the background of my card as for my frame to sit on. I used the foam adhesive sheets with pacific point cardstock to add dimension to the playful alphabet letters and my DIY faux resin dots to complete the card.

Stampin' Up! Slimline Gnome Punch Art Christmas Card

Well, this is my last Making Merry Monday card for the year. I won't go as far to say it's my final Christmas card for the year though...
I decided to make a fun card this time, well I think so. My 17 year old son, told me it was lame and a dad joke (but from mum) but I never asked his opinion!


I used the subtle 3D embossing folder to add texture to the beard and used the heartwarming hugs DSP for the hat and the patterned paper in the background. I used some retired red foil for the 2020 and printed the sentiment on my computer using the Futura font in size 32 (I also used the same font on the inside of the card.) The red/green foil in the August - December mini catalogue would look great also only the green isn't pear pizzaz so it looked a little odd and I really wanted a glitter for the 2020. To fill in some blank space on my slimline card I used some of my gold foil faux resin dots.


Inside card - I inked the beard on the gnome to make it stand out on the whisper white card and I kind of wished I inked the beard for the card front as well... Maybe next time if I make more of these cards.


Punch art sheet so you can make your own gnome with hand drawn lines so you can see what sections I cut off with paper snips. Obviously, I used the ornament from gleaming ornaments upside which is why I have photographed it upside down.
I did use a retired 1/2" circle punch but you could easily replace that with a small die cut circle from the garage gears die for example or the middle of the "o" from playful alpahbet dies.

Bright and fun Stampin’ Up! curvy edge birthday card with curvy dies and playful alphabet dies

Our twenty sixth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "merry merlot" from the neutrals collection. I have chosen merry merlot, melon mambo and daffodil delight from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 

I am getting the most from the curvy dies and again have used them to create a curvy edge card (my second one this week!) If you haven't already purchased the Quite Curvy Bundle or the Quite Curvy Variety Bundle you really must have another look at it. I've also used the happy dies along with the playful alphabet dies to create a bright and fun happy birthday card. The curved edge also helps add to the playful feel. The adhesive sheets are fabulous for adhering the finer details like the ballon string. I also used the foam adhesive sheets for the "happy" portion of the happy birthday sentiment. I have also used my faux resin dots to fill in some of the white space.

Stampin' Up! Personalised Kids Birthday Card using Best Plaid Builder and Playful Alphabet Dies

Our twenty fifth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is melon mambo from the brights collection. I have chosen melon mambo, night of navy and basic gray from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 


I love how the melon mambo pops on the plaid background with the night of navy and the basic gray. The adhesive sheets made assembling this background very simple and I enjoyed creating a personalised card for my cousin's daughter. I created the large number 6 using my electronic die cut machine but you could also replicate it by printing out a number on a word processing program and cutting it out/tracing around it out on cardstock/cutting it out to get the same effect. I also added my faux resin dots on the card for more pops of melon mambo.

Making Merry Monday #6 2020

For my Making Merry Monday card today, I had a poll on my Facebook page where I asked if I should make a traditional or a modern/bright card. The answer was 100% modern/bright card and this was my attempt at modern/bright. I went with bermuda bay for my colour and felt it would have been brighter if I had of chosen a different colour but I felt it is bright and modern in design for me.


I have used brown paper (from old Stampin' Up! packaging) to create a faux silk background ink the sky and have fussy cut the designer series paper trees. I used the playful alphabet dies with foam adhesive sheets for added dimension and height and of course, my homemade faux resin dots.

Inside card - I typed a sentiment (font Bradley Hand, size 17) as I didn't have the right sentiment and tried to replicate the front of the card

Colour Creations #21 - Highland Heather

Our twenty first colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "highland heather" from the subtles collection. I have chosen highland heather, melon mambo and pumpkin pie from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 


For my card today I begun typing Happy birthday! on my computer filling the screen and printing it onto whisper white cardstock (Helvetica font, size 11, if you want all the details 😀) and I then used old plastic gift cards/store loyalty cards and dots of classic stampin' ink refills (on clear blocks) and swiped my three ink colours across the printed cardstock. I will mentioned that I have a laser printer, I am not sure if the ink will run/smudge if you have an inkjet printer.  
I die cut the letters to spell Happy Birthday in both basic black and silver foil to create a shadow effect when layered together and I finished off the card front with a matt of silver foil on highland heather card and with faux resin dots.

Colour Creations #14 - Daffodil Delight

Our fourteenth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "daffodil delight" from the brights collection. I have chosen daffodil delight, mango melody and poppy parade from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
Here is my daffodil delight card from 2018. 

I decided to make an emoji style birthday card for my creation this week using punch art and focused on using my chosen colours for the emoji and the party hat. I had to use a lot of dies to create the punch art "look". I gave the party hat a bit of texture with shimmery white embossing paste and the basic pattern decorative mask and finished the hat off with a tassel I created using a cog from garage gears thinlit dies. The rest of the card was completed with a "happy b*day" that was inspired from the happiest of birthdays stamp set. I think it works well with the emoji image. Perfect for the younger teenage crowd.
