Stampin' Up! 18th Birthday Chocolate Slider Box

Today I have another chocolate slider box to share. I made this one as a 18th birthday gift. I again put money inside it but as I was finishing it, it occurred to my it would be a great place to also put a gift card. For an 18th for a local liquor store even (or someplace else!)
For my international readers, in Victoria, (my home state), 18 is the magical age where you can get your license, purchase alcohol, get a tattoo, get married etc. (Most of those are the same Australia wide but the driving age does differ from state to state.)


For this chocolate slider box, I added in some of the swirls from the stitched star dies for added interest. I used the large swirly die circled in red below. I used both the swirls and the stars from the die. I used my paper snips to snip off the swirls.

Stampin' Up! Punch Art Easter Chocolate Slider Box

With Easter only days away, I made a chocolate slider box. I used the layering oval dies (which has sadly sold out from the last chance product sale). To make a bunny with a current in stock product, you could use the double oval punch for a punch art bunny. It would just be a smaller bunny.

Stampin' Up! Game On Slider Chocolate Slider Box

This weeks Masculine Monday creation is a chocolate slider box featuring game on stamp set. If you saw my colour creations purple posy post the other week, this is another one I have aimed for teenagers but it would also work older men as well. 

I have used real red ribbon for my belly band around the smoky slate chocolate slider box as it was a lot easier than getting the scores perfect and it matched the slider motion perfectly as well! I heat embossed the chess pieces in clear embossing powder to make them stand out on the smoky slate cardstock. I popped both the chess pieces and the sentiment up on stampin' dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Playful Alphabet Chocolate Slider Box with Playing with Patterns DSP

Our thirty ninth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "purple posy" from the 2019 - 2021 in color collection. I have chosen purple posy, pool party and smoky slate from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
I have made a chocolate slider box this week instead of a card. I find they are perfect to have on hand for teenagers to hand out with some cash inside (taped to the block of chocolate) for birthdays. It's more than just cash but not a huge embarrassing (or unwanted gift) to hand over.
I've made the slider box in purple posy cardstock and have used the gorgeous grape inkpad and dauber to add some depth to the edges (I've also use gorgeous grape ink and dauber on the playing with patterns DSP). I matted the purple posy DSP with smoky slate cardstock and used the playful alphabet dies with foam adhesive sheets for dimension and height. I also added in my faux resin dots in purple posy onto the DSP. 
I finished off the chocolate slider box with a mini gift card and purple posy linen thread to act as the slider with pool party cardstock as the handle.

Stampin' Up! Last Minute Gift Boxes Using Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper

I made these last minute gift boxes for my niece and nephew using the 3, 2, 1 box from here and stashed some Christmas cash inside them but I love how they can be used for any small goodies. I used my sponge brayer to colour white tissue paper with pretty peacock ink so it matched the inside of the boxes (I doubt they noticed) but hey, I liked knowing it matched!


Just so you know, I am kicking myself that the gold ribbon is twisted (but I can't retake the photos as I have given the boxes to my niece and nephew now).


I love the extra touch of the DSP around the money, I think it adds an extra special touch, don't you?

Stampin' Up! Easter Blog Hop

One of my cheeky nephews doesn't like chocolate (definitely unusual in my family!!!) so I always think outside the box what to gift him for Easter. He loves red lollies and BBQ shapes and that is what he is getting a stash of this year when the other nephews and my niece get chocolate! Of course he has to get his stash all decked out Easter like though to make it look extra special.



The gift bag punch board came to the rescue in making a bag with the botanical butterfly designer series paper from sale-a-bration (the gingham check is the reverse side of the large butterflies).  
I decorated the front of the gift bag using framelits to mimic punch art to create my "bunny". Hopefully Mitchell likes his unconventional Easter present (now I just have to go and do the rest of my Easter shopping!)

Stampin' Up! Hello Cupcake Decorated Recipe Card

I recently brought my mum my favourite piping tip which makes piping cupcakes very simple and I couldn't give her the piping tip without my icing recipe. Of course the recipe card had to be pretty and Stampin' Up! came to the rescue with the sale-a-bration hello cupcake stamp set. Stampin' Up! Fixing Up The Old With The New

Back in 2007, I made a count down tree for my kids to count down how many days to Christmas. Over the years somehow, we have lost one of the double sided numbers (the 4 and the 5) and it has made for an interesting countdown.


With Christmas finished and when I was packing the decorations and tree away I decided it was as good a time as any to fix the missing number problem. Only issue is, I no longer have any of the Cool Caribbean cardstock or inkpad (in color 2007 - 2008) so I improvised with pool party instead. It isn't a perfect match of course but it will do for something we use approx. 30 days a year!

I also no longer have the weathered background stamp I used to stamp the original numbers with but I can tell you that there is a crackled paint background stamp coming in the occasions catalogue (released January 3rd, 2019) that would be a great substitute. I have used the Under the Mistletoe designer series paper for both my projects today. I love how the one pack of Christmas paper has some many varied patterns and different looks to create many stunning projects. 
I have two projects to share today and both were made using the simply scored scoring tool. While you can get a metric plate for the scoring tool, today I only used the original board on it's own.


Project 1 is a gift bag that you can slip the ribbon off sideways to make it reusable. I love how the gift bag makes the large print designer series paper a statement piece without being obnoxious. 

I made my gift bag in an unusual way. I took a 8.5" x 12" of designer series paper and scored (and adhered it together) to create an open box and then used another small piece of designer series paper to create the flap (that I added on afterwards.) While this is not the traditional way to made a "bag" it saves designer series paper as usually you cut away a lot of excess paper and have small sections leftover with score lines.

Blue = adhesive, red = cut lines & green = paper you cut off and discard
Opps, I just noticed, I forgot to add adhesive lines for the base of the gift bag. My apologises!
 
Project 2 is an ornament made with real red cardstock and 1" pieces of designer series paper. I left the top of my ornament unsealed and closer to Christmas I may sneak some lollies or a small gift inside as a surprise for the recipient.

It was my SIL's birthday celebration this past weekend and we have a bit of a running joke in the family. If you don't know what you want, you get told you will receive a pineapple and a spoon. My SIL's wish list wasn't past on so I made her a pineapple (that hid money) and chocolate spoons as her gift. I used this link for my pineapple gift box.
