Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper Card Bases

In this months (March's) techniques class, we used designer series paper for the card base and it's a perfect way to work through your stash of DSP! 
As always, class participants made two cards and a sample piece.

Stampin' Up! Gilded Leafing Techniques Class with Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper

There seems to be a trend in late blogging of techniques classes this year! Here is Februrary's class (and tomorrow I will post this months class!)
In February we focused on using the Gilded Leaving Technique and used it with tear and tape and also with the heat and stick powder. As always, class participants made two cards and a sample piece. 


The first card features a few products on the Last Chance List, well written dies (which have now sold out), layering oval dies, terracotta tile cardstock and pretty peacock cardstock. 


The second card is a remake of my Old Olive colour creations card and uses the retiring stitched nested labels die.

Stampin' Up! Many Layered Blossoms Split Card

In February I taught a many layered blossoms card class where everyone made two cards, this sympathy card was one of them and the card below was another.
I offered two colour options for the split card, with both coming from the colour coach. Misty moonlight (misty moonlight, balmy blue and petal pink) and bermuda bay (bermuda bay, rich razzleberry and crushed curry.)

Colour Creations 2020 #5 - Blushing Bride

Our fifth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "blushing bride" from the subtles collection. I have chosen blushing bride, poppy parade and pumpkin pie from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
Here is my blushing bride card from 2018. 

For my card today, I am sharing one of the cards that was made in my techniques class last month. We used the tissue paper watercolour technique for the wild rose flowers and used my chosen colours from the colour coach. I think the colours blended beautifully together don't you? Who would have thought blushing bride, poppy parade  and pumpkin pie would blend so well?
Granny apple green and garden green are the two colours used for the leaves. In case you can't tell, I used old sewing patterns for my tissue paper but I selectively stamped so the majority of the wording/lines wouldn't be the focus of my image.
I also popped the centre of the flowers up for added visual interest. I stamped the whisper white background piece with the birch background stamp in crumb cake so it wasn't completely plain background. 
I have gone with a blank/no sentiment on the outside or inside of the card so it is perfect for any occasion (and I didn't want to cover up any of the pretty flowers on the card front!)

Stampin' Up! Colour Blocking Techniques Class

For March's technique's class I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire. I didn't heat emboss any of my images (like she did), I used the FREE sale-a-bration paper flowering foils speciality designer series paper for all my cards and my sample piece instead and skipped that step.


Card 1 is a card for my daughters 13th birthday next month. The class attendees had an option to make a different focal point in the centre using a stamp from Bonanza Buddies stamp set. I used my much loved retired large number framelit dies for the 13.


Card 2 is yet another birthday card because you can never have enough and used the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set (one of my most used birthday sentiments!)

Stampin' Up! Painted Poppies Pop Out Gate Fold Card

Last month I taught a Painted Poppies card and this is one of the three cards everyone made. A pop out gate fold card. It showcases the stunning design on the designer series paper perfectly. It is one of the few cards I make with no sentiment so it can be used for a variety of occasions.

Stampin' Up! decorative backgrounds using masks techniques class

For my January techniques class I focused on using the decorative masks in a different way; with white craft ink and a white gel pen. An extension on your basic supplies and a way to get more milage from what you probably already own. We created backgrounds on various coloured cardstock and used them to create the base of our cards (and a sample piece).
