Hi and welcome to another round of the colour creations blog hop.
For this week's blog hop, we are focusing on the colour, Fresh Freesia.
If you remember, from previous years I like to work with the color coach Stampin' Up! provides to add a challenge to my card creations. This week, I have chosen fresh freesia, pecan pie and blackberry bliss from the colour coach to work with.
Even though I am not a fan of blackberry bliss, using the To Market DSP worked for my card and colour choice. I made a decorative strip side panel card and have a focal panel with exposed brick embossing folder. I made two cards and used pecan pie cardstock on one card and on the other I used basic white cardstock and a blending brush with pecan pie ink for the other panel. I wanted to see what the difference was. I think in the end, I like the basic white/blending brush panel best. (It's the one I used on the 17 card.)
I did use a retired die set (large numbers framelits) because I needed some large numbers to fill the space on my card. I also used simple said stamp set and something fancy dies along with rhinestone basic jewels. Since I was making two cards, the 17 card, is for my niece who birthday is in December (yay for being organised) and the other card is for card stash for my Grandmother. I know one of my cousin's children, (Aster) will be 6 in January.
Close up

Like you Ros, Blackberry Bliss is not one of my favorite colours, but it pairs lovely with Fresh Freesia. I love both the cards and the large numbers really work well here.

Wonderful number birthday cards, Ros. I'm with you, I like the white base with the blending of Pecan Pie ink - just gives a greater variation in colour!

A very nice card design and such an unusual colour combination. I too prefer the one you blended on white.
