Hi and welcome to another round of the colour creations blog hop.
For this weeks blog hop, we are focusing on the colour, basic beige.
If you remember, from previous years I like to work with the color coach Stampin' Up! provides to add a challenge to my card creations.
This week, I have chosen basic beige, fresh freesia and calypso coral from the colour coach to work with.
I made a 50th birthday card for my SIL on the weekend and it inspired today's card. When I was working out the spacing with cardstock scraps I had 9 pieces of cardstock and one odd coloured and I thought it would work perfectly for one of the Basic Beige colour combinations. I found that the Dandy Designs DSP (you can find it on the clearance rack) had the best patterns for my candles in the colours I was working with. I've used the Petal Park punch for the candle flame and I inked the edges of everything with coordinating inkpads. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Wanted to Say dies and I raised it up with Stampin' Dimensionals. I finished off the card with Rhinestone Basic Jewels. The only stamping on the card is the word "celebrate" inside the card (from Softly Said stamp set).

As always, a very creative card, Ros. I really like that the sentiment stamped in black is a great complement to the black mat behind the die-cut sentiment on the front. Great idea to have a "stand out" candle on the front of this lovely bright card!

You are right Ros, your leftovers have made a great card to feature Basic Beige. Nifty idea to use the Petal Park die for the candle flame.

Ros what a fabulous idea to use strips of colourful patterned DSP for the candles . I love the row of irregular candles and the odd one out.

A wonderful birthday card Ros. I love the way you have one candle a different colour from the others and using the Petal Park punch for the flame is brilliant. Love it. xxx
