Hi and welcome to another round of the colour creations blog hop.
For this weeks blog hop, we are focusing on the colour, azure afternoon.
If you remember, from previous years I like to work with the color coach Stampin' Up! provides to add a challenge to my card creations.
This week, I have chosen azure afternoon, copper clay and old olive from the colour coach to work with.
I really struggled with the colour combinations this week on the colour coach and ended up decided to create a car driving through a forest scene.
I used the Grassy Grove stamp set and Grove Dies to create the main part of the card. I cut the Grove Dies in soft sea foam cardstock and stamped it using the trio of trees from Grassy Grove in soft sea foam and old olive inks. I coloured the tree trunks in dark copper clay Stampin' Blend Marker and added a small strip of early espresso cardstock for the road. I backed the tree scene with a piece of balmy blue cardstock and stamped a row of grasses/flowers in Early Espresso ink in the background. I finished off the card front with a Happy Birthday sentiment from Simpy Said stamp set and a Truck punch (or Ute if you are Aussie) both popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Close up
Envelope - I used the leftover trees from the inside of the card to decorate the envelope
Inside card - I added some more of the tree scene in keeping with the card front
Up next we have Vicki Boucher. I can't wait to see what she is sharing.

Your inky treatment of the trees looks fantastic, Ros, and really helps them stand out against the Balmy Blue background. I like the truck in Azure Afternoon; great choice! This is a great birthday card.

Ros, I love this woodland scene you've created by cleverly combining this bundle and truck punch. Cutting the Grove Dies in soft sea foam cardstock and stamping it in soft sea foam and old olive gives a stunning effect to your card!

Ros you have put together a fabulous scene. I love how the tree canopy and trunks pop out against the Balmy Blue Sky and the shady grasses behind the trees.

You have created a lovely scene to feature that Azure Afternoon truck Ros.Even though you say it was a hard colour combo you've done a great job. Great how you have been very resourceful by using the extra trees for the inside and the envelope.

Great use of different products to create your scene, Ros. I think that old style truck is perfect with the grassy grove dies, takes me back to the country farms of my uncles. Love it!
