Hi and welcome to another round of the colour creations blog hop.
For this weeks blog hop, we are focusing on the colour, shy shamrock.
If you happen to like the new in colours, you can get four FREE in color products when you join Stampin' Up! in May. Contact me for more details.
If you remember, from previous years I like to work with the color coach Stampin' Up! provides to add a challenge to my card creations.
This week, I have chosen shy shamrock, misty moonlight and pecan pie from the colour coach to work with.
I have created a painting themed birthday card using the brush from trusty tools. I used this brush to make a tone on tone background in Shy Shamrock and have it mimic the painting of the watercolored strip in Misty Moonlight ink. I also tried to create a "painted" Happy Birthday from Wanted to Say dies in which I used the Shy Shamrock Stampin' Up! Blends. I found this colour combination very challenging this week and my card went through many changes before I settled on its finished design I was happy with.

Ros, I know you said you struggled with this design but your card is wonderful! Such a great colour combination and design.

Great choice for Shy Shamrock Ros and I love how you have carried the painting theme into the Happy Birthday.

Very cool, Ros. Love the happy birthday with the partially coloured green rising up. The tone on tone background stamping is great too!

Even though you were challenged Ros, your card is a success. I particularly like the way you have partially coloured the diecut greeting. Great technique.

Well, the final design is brilliant, Ros! I love everything about this card. Not sure I could have made this colour combo work, but you sure have. The “painted” treatment of the die-cut sentiment is just fab. Love the background stamping, and the twine through the paintbrush handle.

It was a tricky colour combo you chose but you got there in the end. I like the paint brushes stamped tone on tone to support the main focus.
