Hi and welcome to another round of the colour creations blog hop.
For this weeks blog hop, we are focusing on the colour, berry burst.
If you remember, from previous years I like to work with the color coach Stampin' Up! provides to add a challenge to my card creations.
This week, I have chosen berry burst, coastal cabana and daffodil delight from the colour coach to work with.
I have made a fractured/faux shutter card for todays Berry Burst blog hop. I started off with the happy birthday card and wasn't loving it (I think because it was so white with the strips and the centre panel) so I made a second version and added in coastal cabana strips and a daffodil delight matt and love that so much more. I think it pops and adds the wow I was wanting. I didn't want to pull apart the first card and ruin it and be left with no card so I thought you may like to see a little of my crafting thinking process of how when it doesn't quite work for me the first time round, how I add to a card (or in this card re do the entire card) till I am happy with it.
I used Masterfully Made DSP and the floral image is from Nature's Prints stamp set. I coloured the flower in with daffodil delight stampin' blends and used a retired coastal cabana resin dot in the centre of the flower. The sentiment is stamped on a banner from Gorgeously Made dies.
This or that? Which do you like better?
Inside card - cards are the same inside
With envelope - envelopes are the same so I only photographed with my preferred card
Did you know that there is a 24 hour stamp set on today? It ends at 11.59pm this evening but you can purchase the Nature's Prints stamp set, Inked & Tiled stamp set and Something Fancy stamp set and ANY stamp set from the annual catalogue that is not a host stamp set for 15% off!

I definitely love the Coastal Cabana version, Ros, it is stunning. It was so great to see you in person on Saturday, too.

I agree, Ros - the card needed the pop of colour around the flower panel. Coastal Cabana was a great choice.

Because the background paper is so busy, I rather like the white-framed focal image. I can see why you prefer the contrast of the other card, though. Both great designs, Ros.

Oh it's hard to pick which of the versions I prefer Ros as each is lovely. who would have thought that Coastal Cabana would look so good with Berry Burst but then I also like the crispness of the white, so I can't choose. You really have the ability to turn a challenging colour combo into a lovely creations Ros.

Yes, Ros, I think you are right. The one with Coastal Cabana & Crushed Curry is more contrasting and with your 'sponging', adds the Ros factor!
I wonder if you added some colour sponging on the white strips, would it have added a wow?!!!

Yep, Coastal Cabana is my favourite too. Great technique.

Coastal Cabana gets my vote too, but I tend to like brights. It's sometimes fun to experiment.
