Today, we have week seven of the colour creations blog hop. We have returned to the traditional blog hop like a circle, for this new round so we hop you enjoy blog hoping round to everyone's blog. You may have found me via Andrea Sargent's blog. If not that's ok! Hi and welcome!
For this weeks blog hop, we are focusing on the colour, bumblebee.
I have chosen bumblebee, merry merlot and flirty flamingo from the colour coach to work from this week.
For my cards today I have used the floating die cut technique and made two cards with the brilliant wings dies. I created a panel butterfly panel and made a frame in the centre by cutting out a square. The centre portion was then used to create the focus for my second card. Each butterfly die cut on the basic white cardstock is raised up with stampin' dimensionals. While it takes a small amount of time to make both of these cards, I love the finished look it creates. I filled in some blank space I had leftover from the larger butterfly dies with smaller die cut butterflies and pearl basic jewels.
With such a busy frame I decided to go with a very simple sentiment inside the frame.
With decorated envelope - using a die cut butterfly to match the card inside
Close up
Inside card - both cards use the same sentiment and a leftover butterfly from the card front.
Using the inside portion from the square card I made a second card. This time, I matted the square piece with a black matt and finished it with a sentiment at the bottom of the card.
Up next we have Sharon Davern. I can't wait to see what she is sharing.

Great creations, with an unusual colour combo, Ros! I especially like your second card. I think the black mat layer really makes the central panel pop. You've showcased Bumblebee beautifully.

Great cards Ros, such an usual combination, not one I would think to use, but it looks fantastic. Those butterflies do really pop off the card!

Great how you've manage 2 cards for the price of one so to speak. My favourite is the second one though.

Two beautiful cards Ros. Bumblebee, Merry Merlot and Flirty Flamingo is such an unusual colour combination but it really works with your butterflies. Love it!

Such a dramatic colour combination makes for eye-catching cards. The 2nd card seems to catch my eye a bit more than the first, it may be the touch of black, anyway, you've done a great job.
