Our forty second colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "rococo rose" from the 2019 - 2021 in color collection. I have chosen rococo rose, merry merlot and mint macaron from the colour coach to work with today for my creation.
I was struggling with this weeks colour combination. I'm not sure why, but I turned to my old faithful, many layered blossoms die. Even with the many layered blossoms die, I still struggled (maybe because I was using only one of the two step dies?) You'll notice as you scroll further, I have two cards this week which is unusual.
I made the crumb cake base first and something wasn't right about it (it didn't have the very vanilla centres in the middle of the flowers). I made the second card on a very vanilla base (without the copper foil centres in the middle of the flowers) and even ran the rococo rose cardstock through the subtle 3D embossing folder first and I wasn't loving it either card. I decided I had to commit and add the centres to the middle of the flowers (which I'll admit, takes some time which is why I was probably trying to avoid it in the first place) and it certainly finished off both the cards I promise you!
The two cards have rococo rose flowers with merry merlot outline and mint macaron leaves (just different card bases and mats and floral centres). Both cards have champagne rhinestone basic jewels to finish off the cards.
I think the thank you card with the crumb cake base is my favourite, what about you?
I used a triple banner punch for the thank you sentiment and added the rococo rose scallop linen ribbon onto the tag.
This card has the subtle 3D embossing folder on the rococo rose petals. It is easier to see the texture on this image than the one above (that has both cards.)
I also didn't include a sentiment with this card as I went for sophisticated neutral card (or at least that is what I was aiming for!)
For the inside of both cards, I kept them very simple and used the negative of one of the rococo rose dies. It was a great way to use up something that I would normally not know what to do with.

Oooh, these are great cards. Woo hoo, I picked the correct combo, LOL! I have to say that the copper version is my favourite. The embossing on the petals looks fabulous.

The crumb cake card is my favourite, too, Ros. I love the embossed texture on the petals of the other card, though. I can see that your patience, with putting the flower centres back in, paid off! Lovely cards.

Too hard to pick a favourite Ros. The centres are fabulous, and really do set the flowers off, and the decorated inside is delightful!

Wow Ros, both cards are very impressive and love the colour combo you used and the inside of the cards too! I'm leaning towards the white background one and a nice touch with the rhinestone jewels too.

Oh Ros I hear you with the creative struggle -sometimes it can take hours to make a card and it still doesn't seem to work! However, I think both your cards are beautiful and despite the time it took to add the centres it definitely makes both cards. Thank you for inspiring us all with your creations this week xx

I like the crumb cake but I really love the added touch of the foil and Subtle TIEF on card 2! Both lovely cards though, Ros!

Great colour combination choice Ros. These colours look gorgeous together. The subtle embossed flowers look lovely.
