Our forty second colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "rococo rose" from the 2019 - 2021 in color collection. I have chosen rococo rose, merry merlot and mint macaron from the colour coach to work with today for my creation.
I was struggling with this weeks colour combination. I'm not sure why, but I turned to my old faithful, many layered blossoms die. Even with the many layered blossoms die, I still struggled (maybe because I was using only one of the two step dies?) You'll notice as you scroll further, I have two cards this week which is unusual.
I made the crumb cake base first and something wasn't right about it (it didn't have the very vanilla centres in the middle of the flowers). I made the second card on a very vanilla base (without the copper foil centres in the middle of the flowers) and even ran the rococo rose cardstock through the subtle 3D embossing folder first and I wasn't loving it either card. I decided I had to commit and add the centres to the middle of the flowers (which I'll admit, takes some time which is why I was probably trying to avoid it in the first place) and it certainly finished off both the cards I promise you!
The two cards have rococo rose flowers with merry merlot outline and mint macaron leaves (just different card bases and mats and floral centres). Both cards have champagne rhinestone basic jewels to finish off the cards.
I think the thank you card with the crumb cake base is my favourite, what about you?
I used a triple banner punch for the thank you sentiment and added the rococo rose scallop linen ribbon onto the tag.
This card has the subtle 3D embossing folder on the rococo rose petals. It is easier to see the texture on this image than the one above (that has both cards.)
I also didn't include a sentiment with this card as I went for sophisticated neutral card (or at least that is what I was aiming for!)
For the inside of both cards, I kept them very simple and used the negative of one of the rococo rose dies. It was a great way to use up something that I would normally not know what to do with.
Catherine is hosting the colour creations blog hop each week and she has links for all the other ladies participating.
