You may have noticed I use a lot of faux resin dots on my cards, I make them myself for minimal cost as I have mentioned before but haven't shown the images of my process. A great die to use is the garage gears die if you don't have a small circle punch as it makes various sized circles.
All I do it punch/die cut out the circles, and apply a decent amount of fine-tip glue on top.
You want a dome of fine-tip glue once you have applied it to the circle before it begins to dry. (As shown in the back portion of the below image.)

As you can see for the first image, I tend to make quite a few dots at a time.
