Stampin' Up! Last Minute Gift Boxes Using Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper

I made these last minute gift boxes for my niece and nephew using the 3, 2, 1 box from here and stashed some Christmas cash inside them but I love how they can be used for any small goodies. I used my sponge brayer to colour white tissue paper with pretty peacock ink so it matched the inside of the boxes (I doubt they noticed) but hey, I liked knowing it matched!


Just so you know, I am kicking myself that the gold ribbon is twisted (but I can't retake the photos as I have given the boxes to my niece and nephew now).


I love the extra touch of the DSP around the money, I think it adds an extra special touch, don't you?

Stampin' Up! Plaid ATC featuring Peace & Joy stamp set and joy dies

One of our recent ATC's featured the plaid technique. It is not a technique I had played with much other than adding a few lines to the buffalo check background stamp (see my card here). For this technique, we had to create a plaid background from scratch. I used crumb cake cardstock, stamping' blends (just jade and real red), basic black stamping' write marker and a gold sharpie pen. I found the stamparatus grid background helpful in making sure my lines were straight etc. as per this Instagram tip. 
I used the Peace and Joy products from the August - December mini catalogue to finish my ATC's along with the pine tree punch (but it is from the annual catalogue). They are on the giant year end closeout list and the joy dies have already sold out. The peace and joy stamp set is still available at the discounted price of $24.80.

Stampin' Up! Re-colour your DSP and make new papers into Thank You Cards

Our twenty ninth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "mossy meadow" from the neutrals collection. I have chosen mossy meadow, flirty flamingo and coastal cabana from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 


I begun with a mint macaron sheet of designer series paper from the ornate garden specialty designer series paper (DSP) and a blending brush (coming in the upcoming January - June 2021 mini catalogue) and I re-coloured my designer series paper to mossy meadow. I loved the gorgeous design but the colour just wasn't working for me today. You can use other tools to colour the paper, blending brushes just happen to be my new favourite! (Sponges/sponge daubers, brayers etc. also work.)
After I had my mossy meadow DSP, I cut it on an angle along with some coastal cabana from the brights DSP pack (truthfully it was a scrap left over which is why it is smaller than the others!) and finished off with some flirty flamingo cardstock. I kept the flirty flamingo "plain" as I had planned for the sentiment to be on the bottom right hand side of the card.
I used the well written framelits for the sentiment and my faux resin dots in mossy meadow.

Stampin' Up! Goodbye Whisper White and Hello Basic White

SU Announcement today: CHANGES TO WHISPER WHITE CARDSTOCK

Whisper White cardstock and paper has been a staple for so long. We love it and we know you love it, too. We are sad to announce that the supplier’s mill producing our Whisper White cardstock has permanently closed due to impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Even though this decision was out of our hands, rest assured that we jumped right into action to find the best replacement paper possible. We have dedicated many hours to source and test alternative cardstock options from several suppliers to find the perfect fit that still maintains the Stampin’ Up! quality you know and trust. We are happy to share that we have found a winner for our new cardstock, Basic White!

The quality of our new Basic White was thoroughly tested by our quality assurance and product teams. It also tested very well with demonstrators and concept artists who gave it a huge thumbs up. We believe in the quality of the new Basic White cardstock and we know it will become your new crafting staple!

What does this mean for you?

With Whisper White going out of production, this means a number of Whisper White products will be affected. Below is a list of all products that will be replaced with our new Basic White cardstock. These items are now available while supplies last with an order limit of 2 per item per order.

Stampin' Up! Quick and Easy Christmas Shaker Card with Clear Envelopes

Our twenty eighth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "misty moonlight" from the 2020 - 2022 in colour collection. I have chosen misty moonlight, balmy blue and petal pink from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 


I have used the coming home bundle to create a quick and simple shaker card with the clear envelopes. Such a easy way to make a very simple shaker card and the best bit, no glitter ever sneaks out! Totally, my pet hate when making shaker cards. It does make it a little harder to photograph though with the glare from the clear envelope.  
I have used stampin' blends for basic colouring of the houses from the coming home stamp set and stacked two of the houses together for a different look.


I had adhered one of the trees in the "shaker scene" behind the clear envelope and the other two on the front of the clear envelope for visual interest. 


Inside card - I used a typed sentiment as I didn't have the stamp I wanted (Futura font) and stamped a smaller house and tree. Again, coloured in with stampin' blends basic colouring.

Stampin' Up! Faux Patina Technique Thank You Card

Our twenty seventh colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "mint macaron" from the subtles collection. I have chosen mint macaron, soft sea foam and soft suede from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 

I decided to use the faux patina technique to create a thank you card this week. 
If you are not sure what the faux patina technique is it a vintage kind of look which is a mix of green and blue and metallic to create a patina. Patina is what happens to copper and bronze as they age due to natural corrosion. As mint macaron is a green/blue I thought this was the perfect technique for this weeks colour creations card.  

I've run my mint macaron cardstock through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine with the Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder for texture and applied mint macaron, bermuda bay and soft suede inks to the raised areas. I also randomly swiped a Versamark inkpad and sprinkled embossing powder and heat embossed it to help add the corrosion feel. I added some faux resin dots I made use copper foil and also matted the card with copper foil before adhering it to a mint macaron card base.

I adore the delicate frames in ornate layers dies and the frame I've used here compliments the card beautifully don't you think? Also, the stitched rectangles dies fit perfectly inside the frames. 


Inside card - I used some off cuts from the card front to decorate the inside and stamped a thank you sentiment from massive thanks stamp set
