Colour Creations #22 - Just Jade

Our twenty second colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "just jade" from the 2020 - 2022 in color collection. I have chosen just jade, shaded spruce and calypso coral from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
I have created a layered background thank you card featuring the forever fern bundle, which comprises of forever fern stamp set and forever flourishing dies. I've stamped my leaf images in just jade and granny apple green and I've added in shaded spruce die cut leaves along with gold foil and calypso coral elements. I've also used the flowers for every season DSP, peaceful moments and massive thanks stamp sets. I used the Subtle 3D embossing folder on my whisper white background for some added texture before beginning all my layering. I've also added in some of my faux resin dots in gold and I popped up my thank you sentiment on stampin' dimensionals.

Making Merry Monday #4 2020

For my Making Merry Monday card today I have used the Plaid Tidings DSP 6" x 6" pack, which is one of the DSP's that is available this month for 15% off (see all the DSP's on sale here). I begun with an origami Christmas tree fold that I placed on a whisper white piece of cardstock that I embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. I heat embossed the words "merry & and" from Peace and Joy stamp set and die cut the word "bright" from Joy Dies in gold foil. I also die cut a gold foil star from stitched star dies. I finished off my card with three gold foil faux resin dots.

Stampin' Up! Water Stamping Technique ATC

For my latest ATC's we focused on the Water Stamping technique. It was again, a new technique for me and one I am looking forward to trying again. This time, I used the "Back on Your Feet" stamp set as my focal image with the "Dry Brush" stamp in the background for the water stamping. 
After blending my background cardstock (whisper white) with pacific point and bermuda bay inks, I stamped the dry brush stamp in water and onto my blended cardstock. Once my background was dry, I stamped the giraffe image in memento ink and stamped another giraffe on extra whisper white cardstock (to later colour in with stampin' blends and fussy cut out and overlay on top of my background image). I stamped the sentiment in versamark in and heat embossing in white stampin' emboss powder. I finished off my ATC with a whisper white matt and bermuda bay card base.

Colour Creations #21 - Highland Heather

Our twenty first colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "highland heather" from the subtles collection. I have chosen highland heather, melon mambo and pumpkin pie from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 


For my card today I begun typing Happy birthday! on my computer filling the screen and printing it onto whisper white cardstock (Helvetica font, size 11, if you want all the details 😀) and I then used old plastic gift cards/store loyalty cards and dots of classic stampin' ink refills (on clear blocks) and swiped my three ink colours across the printed cardstock. I will mentioned that I have a laser printer, I am not sure if the ink will run/smudge if you have an inkjet printer.  
I die cut the letters to spell Happy Birthday in both basic black and silver foil to create a shadow effect when layered together and I finished off the card front with a matt of silver foil on highland heather card and with faux resin dots.

Making Merry Monday #3 2020

For my card today, I have gone with a black, white and gold theme. I used the Christmas gleaming, peaceful boughs and a wish for everything stamp sets plus the word wishes dies for an elegant looking Christmas card. I heat embossed the Christmas ornaments with gold embossing powder on basic black cardstock and popped them up with stampin' dimensionals. I stamped peaceful boughs in memento on whisper white cardstock and die cut Merry Christmas from gold foil. The white panel is double matted in gold foil and basic black cardstock and layered onto whisper white thick cardstock.

Colour Creations #20 - Gray Granite

Our twentieth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "gray granite" from the neutrals collection. I have chosen gray granite, mossy meadow and blushing bride from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 

Today I have tried to make an elegant sympathy card with a paper toile design. I have stamped the focal image in gray granite ink, 3 times and fussy cut the top two layers subtracting parts of the design each time. I stamped the sentiment also in gray granite ink and completed the remaining portion of the sentiment with a triple layered die cut also in gray granite cardstock. 
I used the lid of my blushing bride stampin' write marker (and the marker) to create delicate splatters randomly in my background of my whisper white card front and added faux resin dots to echo the random splatters.

Inside card - I had another magnolia left (from stamping on the stamparatus) so I fussy cut it out and popped it up with stampin' dimensionals to create a basic paper toile effect much like the card front. I also added the same blushing bride splatters using the stampin' write markers only concentrated with the focus more on the bottom section of the card

Making Merry Monday #2 2020

For my Making Merry Monday card today I have made a strippy Christmas card using stitched triangle dies with 'Tis the Season designer series paper. I added a heat embossed sentiment from Christmas Gleaming stamp set and faux resin dots to fill in some blank space.

Stampin' Up! Thank You Cards featuring Peony Garden Designer Series Paper

On Saturday October 3rd, it was World Cardmaking Day and I spent the day making Thank You Cards for my customers who placed orders in September.
I did 5 different patterns with the Peony Garden designer series paper (DSP) I liked and make multiples of those designs. 
I will admit, I used some retired DSP to make a mock up sample first as I can sometime be a little precious and have trouble cutting into my DSP and don't want to mess it up or waste it. Do you have this problem as well?
Once I was happy with my mock up, it was easy to cut into my Peony Garden DSP as I knew exactly when I was doing. Plus, I now have a spare card to add to my stash.

Colour Creations #19 - Granny Apple Green

Our nineteenth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "granny apple green" from the brights collection. I have chosen granny apple green, balmy blue and highland heather from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
 

For my card today I tried using the Playful Alphabet Dies for the number 16 but I felt that they were underwhelming and not giving a big enough "wow" impact.


I switched to a retired numerical die in a larger size and kept the Playful Alphabet Dies for the inside where I found it was better suited.
I used the chevron fold technique with the brights designer series paper on highland heather cardstock which also has the faux silk technique. A painted label die in gold foil with layering circle dies in whisper white finished with large number dies in balmy blue glimmer paper. I also added my faux resin dots in granny apple green in the background along with the "Happy Birthday" sentiment stamped in Memento onto a punched out classic label.

Inside card - I continued the chevron fold on the inside of the card and used the Playful Alphabet 16 from the front of the card and stamped one of the sentiments from the "A Grand Kid". 
I made this card for my eldest daughter who's birthday is on Saturday. She has been saving up her money from working at Maccas  to buy herself a new iPhone and we are giving her some money as part of her birthday present hence why I went with the "money" sentiment from "A Grand Kid". 


This is my granny apple green card from 2018. I used the same colour combination as tonight, but couldn't find a way to work in the balmy blue.

Making Merry Monday #1 2020

It's been a long time since I've done a Making Merry Monday post, (I did them weekly for a long time from 2009 - 2013) and since I can't teach in person classes currently (thanks to the lockdown situation in Melbourne, Australia at the moment) my Christmas card stash is looking rather sad for this time of year. I've decided to bring back Making Merry Monday for the foreseeable future to make myself create Christmas cards for my stash. 

Here is today's card.


I've used the stunning Heartwarming Hugs designer series paper which is on the DSP sale this month in a chevron fold along with the peace and joy bundle. I hope today's card inspires you to create a Christmas card this week.
