Our nineteenth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "granny apple green" from the brights collection. I have chosen granny apple green, balmy blue and highland heather from the colour coach to work with today for my creation.
For my card today I tried using the Playful Alphabet Dies for the number 16 but I felt that they were underwhelming and not giving a big enough "wow" impact.
I switched to a retired numerical die in a larger size and kept the Playful Alphabet Dies for the inside where I found it was better suited.
I used the chevron fold technique with the brights designer series paper on highland heather cardstock which also has the faux silk technique. A painted label die in gold foil with layering circle dies in whisper white finished with large number dies in balmy blue glimmer paper. I also added my faux resin dots in granny apple green in the background along with the "Happy Birthday" sentiment stamped in Memento onto a punched out classic label.
Close up
Inside card - I continued the chevron fold on the inside of the card and used the Playful Alphabet 16 from the front of the card and stamped one of the sentiments from the "A Grand Kid".
I made this card for my eldest daughter who's birthday is on Saturday. She has been saving up her money from working at Maccas to buy herself a new iPhone and we are giving her some money as part of her birthday present hence why I went with the "money" sentiment from "A Grand Kid".
This is my granny apple green card from 2018. I used the same colour combination as tonight, but couldn't find a way to work in the balmy blue.

Ros I love that you've found the perfect sentiment for your gift to your daughter on her birthday _ I'm sure she will love this bright and vibrant card (though maybe not quite as much as she will love the money towards her new phone, he he!!!!) Thanks for inspiring us all with your Granny Apple Green card tonight!

I love both versions of this colourful, fun, card Ros - but I agree that the larger numbers pack more of a punch. Beautiful work!

Great cards Ros, I agree the larger 16 looks much better on the front. GAG and HH looks great together

Love those Granny Apple Green chevrons, Ros and it's a great teen colour combo. The large numbers are perfect for the front of the card.

I love Granny Apple Green and Highland Heather as a colour combination. It reminds me of some of my favourite plants in our garden. Your card is fabulous Ros. Your chevrons are fantastic and while I did like the smaller numeral, I agree, the larger one has more impact. Perfect sentiment too. I hope your daughter had a very happy birthday.
