Colour Creations #13 - Crushed Curry

Our thirteenth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "crushed curry" from the regals collection. I have chosen crushed curry, sahara sand and pool party from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
Here is my crushed curry card from 2018. 

For my card today, I decided to work with the split card front technique and I used the many layered blossoms die to split across the two card fronts. Using the adhesive sheets was big time saver in creating the two cards and made sticking the tiny pool party flower centres down A LOT easier! 
I decided mirror the overall design yet make the two cards different. One into a birthday card and the other a thank you card. Again, I used my faux resin dots to finish off the two cards and add in some more crushed curry colour.

Colour Creations #12 - Crumb Cake

Our twelfth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "crumb cake" from the neutrals collection. I have chosen crumb cake, calypso coral and granny apple green from the colour coach to work with today for my creation and I also added in a little petal pink.
Here is my crumb cake card from 2018. 

For my card today, I started with a crumb cake cardstock background that I covered with an old sewing pattern using the faux silk technique to create a textured background. I then added some wild rose flowers in calypso coral and petal pink that I fussy cut so I had no white edges showing. I also fussy cut the leaves I stamped on granny apple green cardstock. The wild rose die cut leaves are from old olive cardstock. 
To add in some more crumb cake, I've made my own faux resin dots. I did this by using a circle punch and the fine tip glue pen. As Stampin' Up! don't sell small punch shapes any more, I suggest having another look at your cut and emboss products. Many of your dies have small circles that work really well to create faux resin dots.

Art with Heart Stampin' Up! Rainbow Blog Hop

With all that’s happening worldwide at the moment the Art With Heart Team are here with a rainbow theme Creative Showcase to brighten your day.
Every month the talented ladies share their inspirational ideas in a monthly showcase and this month our projects are inspired by Rainbows.

For my card today, I have used the lovely brights family to create to a rainbow using the scrappy strip technique. I think it is a bright, fun card that is bound to cheer anyone's day especially the birthday recipient. 


Like I mentioned above, I have used all the colours in the brights family and I have also used the silver foil and playful alphabet dies to spell out happy birthday with the inlaid die technique. I have finished off my card with some basic rhinestone jewels.

Inside card - I continued the rainbow scrappy strip technique on the inside only this time I didn't leave a gap between each colour and I also used the happiest of birthdays stamp for the sentiment.

Colour Creations #11 - Coastal Cabana

Our eleventh colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "coastal cabana" from the brights collection. I have chosen coastal cabana, melon mambo and gorgeous grape from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
Here is my coastal cabana card from 2018. 

For my card today, I have been heavily inspired and basically CASED this amazing card from Melissa Stout. I've used the same bundle, peace and joy and practically the same colours, only I have changed the orientation of the card to a horizontal card and also made my card into a shaker card.
I used the joy dies to die cut the word "bright" and stamped the words the two words "merry & and" from the peace & joy stamp set. I made a simple frame using the paper trimmer and finished it off with the window sheets and foam adhesive strips to create a shaker panel. This created the focal point for my card sitting on a sheet of coastal cabana designer series paper from the brights 6" x 6" designer series paper pack.

Colour Creations #10 - Cinnamon Cider

Our tenth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "cinnamon cider" from the 2020 - 2022 in color collection. I have chosen cinnamon cider, crushed curry and cajun craze from the colour coach to work with today for my creation (and I also added in early espresso). 
For my card today I have used the herringbone technique with cardstock strips in four colours. I used two different designer series paper, (world of good and in good taste), and made my own paper strips for the other two colours. For the cajun craze strips I used the mother of pearl technique and for the crushed curry strips the shaving foam technique.
After laying down my herringbone panel I decided the pattern was quite masculine and was considering making a male birthday card but since Father's Day is next month (first Sunday in September in Australia) I thought I would get super organised and make a card to mail to my Father in law. (Need to make a card for my dad next.)
I am a lot more organised (and in a better head space) than I was in the lead up to Mother's Day, as we were in isolation then too and I didn't even make any cards for my Mum or Mother in law! Whoops!

Inside card - I feel the inside of the card could work as a card front on its own as well.
I typed the sentiment Happy iso Father's Day and used a font I downloaded for the internet (Desert Queen). I finished off the sentiment with the Playful Alphabet Dies. I also tried to echo the front of the card with the herringbone technique but due to the panel being much smaller I only ran the cardstock strips in one direction.
