Stampin' Up! Ornate Style For You Card

Last night I posted my Cherry Cobbler colour creations card and while I was creating that card, I was very indecisive and I had a few samples on the go testing out different methods of colouring. These were watercoloring, stampin' blends on white cardstock and stampin' blends on a heat embossed image on black cardstock in case your were wondering.
I didn't want to waste all my non attempts but I am not so good at watercoloring (so I binned that attempt!) and I used the stampin' blends on white cardstock for last nights card.
The petal pink stampin' blend didn't show up on the embossed image so I used flirty flamingo instead and as I had finished my cherry cobbler card already I added a pop of colour with daffodil delight. I again fussy cut the image and used the ornate layers die with the flirty flamingo cardstock being run through the subtle 3D embossing folder. This time, I did however add a 'for you' sentiment from the well said stamp set.

Colour Creations 2020 #9 - Cherry Cobbler

Our ninth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "cherry cobbler" from the regals collection. I have chosen cherry cobbler, petal pink and mossy meadow from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
Here is my card from 2018. 

For tonights card, I have used the large floral from ornate style stamp set and have coloured it in with stampin' blends on shimmery white cardstock. I fussy cut a few of the cherry cobbler images and raised them up on stampin' dimensionals for added interest, similar to paper toile. I also added rhinestone jewels both basic and champagne coloured ones to the centre of most flowers for a bit of bling. I fussy cut the large floral image and laid it on top of the frame from ornate layers dies. I then layed the die cut frame onto a petal pink cardstock piece I had run through the subtle embossing folder. 
I went with the no sentiment/blank card instead of the for you route I was going to do so it can be used for any occasion.

Colour Creations 2020 #8 - Calypso Coral

Our eighth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "calypso coral" from the subtles collection. I have chosen calypso coral, crushed curry and bermuda bay from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
Here is my card from 2018. 

With my card today, I decided to create a shaker card as the colours calypso coral, crushed curry and bermuda bay, all together scream bright, fun and happy! I created a smoshed inked background and layered a single cardstock candle on top if it. I masked two different stamps from well said stamp set to create the "make a" sentiment (shown in the image below) and I also trimmed the end off wishes from well written dies to create the word "wish".



To create the candle, I also used the well written dies but used the negative portion (again shown below).

Computer Gamer Stampin' Up! 17th birthday card

My eldest son turned 17 today and he loves to play computer and Play Station games. I used his hobby as my inspiration for his gamer birthday card.


My younger son gave my the idea to have some of the computer keys "worn" as in they are the keys that would be most used when playing games. Josh appreciated my efforts and said my card was "pretty cool", which I consider high praise from a 17 year old!

Close up - I printed out a keyboard image and fussy cut the keyboard keys out and popped each one up on stampin' dimensionals to create realistic keyboard keys.

Colour Creations 2020 #7 - Cajun Craze

Our seventh colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "cajun craze" from the regals collection. I have chosen cajun craze, calypso coral and soft sea foam from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. I also added in misty moonlight and old olive as I needed some extra colours to complete the outfits.
Here is my cajun craze card from 2018. 

I often struggle to work with regal colours and cajun craze is one of the I rarely use (along with blackberry bliss like I mentioned here!) For my card today, I turned to the annual catalogue for inspiration as it is a great source for ideas as well as a catalogue and CASED my card from there. First up, you will see the card I have CASED before you see my version. The card shown below is from the 2020 - 2021 annual catalogue, page 106 ©2020 Stampin' Up!®.


As you can see, all I did was switch up some of the colours on the stamped image and change out the background on the base card! A total CASED card. I coloured my image with basic colouring with the Stampin' Blends. I also used the faux suede technique for the background of my card base. The old world paper 3D embossing folder would also give you a great texture background but alas, it is not yet in my stash.  


Close up of the card front - I masked the male image to stamp the lady with her hand behind him and I also masked both images to colour my background with sponges. It is a little hard to see in the photo but I have used fine tip glue pen on the ladies glasses for an added shine.

Colour Creations 2020 #6 - Bumblebee

Our sixth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "bumblebee" from the 2020 - 2022 in color collection. I have chosen bubblebee, merry merlot and flirty flamingo from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 

I found today's colour challenge very hard to work with. Probably because of the trio of colours I had chosen but from the #stampinupcolor coach they seemed to be the easier ones for me to work with. After much deliberation and false starts I came up with today's card.
I have created a pencil from the bubblebee cardstock with the flirty flamingo for the eraser and the merry merlot for the pencil colour. I also added in silver foil for the metal edge of the eraser and crumb cake for the base of the pencil.

I used the well written dies to spell thank you and used my paper snips to alter thanks, into thank.
The bumble splotch is the oil spill look from geared up garage and the merry merlot dots are from comfort and hope stamp sets.


Inside card - I've used massive thanks on the inside as I love the wonderful variety of thank you sentiments it has. I went with a fairly general thank you sentiment as I have no need for this thank you card and plan on giving it away to someone who can give it to someone deserving. I think it is wonderfully suited to a teacher/childcare worker etc.

Colour Creations 2020 #5 - Blushing Bride

Our fifth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "blushing bride" from the subtles collection. I have chosen blushing bride, poppy parade and pumpkin pie from the colour coach to work with today for my creation. 
Here is my blushing bride card from 2018. 

For my card today, I am sharing one of the cards that was made in my techniques class last month. We used the tissue paper watercolour technique for the wild rose flowers and used my chosen colours from the colour coach. I think the colours blended beautifully together don't you? Who would have thought blushing bride, poppy parade  and pumpkin pie would blend so well?
Granny apple green and garden green are the two colours used for the leaves. In case you can't tell, I used old sewing patterns for my tissue paper but I selectively stamped so the majority of the wording/lines wouldn't be the focus of my image.
I also popped the centre of the flowers up for added visual interest. I stamped the whisper white background piece with the birch background stamp in crumb cake so it wasn't completely plain background. 
I have gone with a blank/no sentiment on the outside or inside of the card so it is perfect for any occasion (and I didn't want to cover up any of the pretty flowers on the card front!)
