Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas #12 2018

Today I have a Z fold card to share featuring the Santa's workshop memories and more card pack. Not only are they fabulous for pocket style scrapbooking but they also make some quick and easy cards. I love the simple bling of the striped background paper on the "z" fold panel and the extra wow it brings to the card. There is absolutely no stamping on todays card at all either, the Merry Christmas sentiment is a sticker I used from the card pack that I have popped up on stampin' dimensionals.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #22 Grapefruit Grove

Our twenty second colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is grapefruit grove from the 2018 - 2020 collection. I have chosen grapefruit grove, merry merlot and pool party from the color coach to work with today.


I mixed grapefruit grove and pool party with the angled backgrounds technique to come up with todays card. I threw in falling flowers and graceful garden stamp sets along with some gold foil and a merry merlot die cut to complete the card.

Stampin' Up! Think Pink Blog Hop

Tonight, I have created a ombre card in shades of pink which was personalised with the fabulous layering alphabet edglits (and big shot) and finished off with the lined alphabet stamp set. Did you know that these two products are available in a bundle at a saving of 10%?

Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas #11 2018

This week I have a shaker card to share with you all. Heavily inspired by a present with the designer series paper doing most of the work and shock horror, no stamping on the card front at all! The beautiful Merry Christmas thinlet dies make up for the lack of stamping I think. 


The multi purpose adhesive sheets as usual were the best thing to adhere the fine die cut lettering to the window sheet. No need to mess around with glue when you have those on hand.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #21 Granny Apple Green

Our twenty first colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is granny apple green from the brights collection. I have chosen granny apple green and highland heather from the color coach to work with today. I couldn't make balmy blue work with the other colours I have chosen so I left it out.


I used serene garden stamp set mixed with stampin' blends and the happy birthday thinlets for my card, keeping it very simple and finishing it off with basic rhinestone jewels. A touch of wink of stella on the butterfly adds a tiny bit of bling. 


I have been quite busy of late and it was late at night when I finished this creation (not long before this blog hop) and I sadly didn't make the time to decorate the inside. Now that I have packed up the supplies, I have to go back and finish the inside of the card. Lesson learned, decorate the inside no matter how busy you or (or how late at night it is!)

Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas #10 2018

Today’s card shares the amazing tarnished foil technique using the Seasonal Wreath 3D dynamic textured impressions embossing folder along with basic stamping, punched shapes, layered circles and stampin’ dimensions. I love it when it doesn’t take much to create a real WOW card. This was made in my October Techniques classes and all class attendees have loved it also. 


Did you know that if you get Staz On ink on a portion of the card where you don’t want it (in my case anywhere there wasn’t an impression from the embossing folder) rub some staz on remover onto some fabric and apply it gently to the silver foil and it removes the ink. Perfect for ink clean ups!

Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #20 Gorgeous Grape

Our twentieth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is gorgeous grape from the brights collection. I have chosen gorgeous grape, early espresso and granny apple green from the color coach to work with today.

I made today's card for my eldest daughters birthday (she turned 14 last week) and when thinking of what to make for her card, a mobile phone (cell phone) was top of my list. Her mobile is always close by (and if she is not on that it's her laptop!) Teenagers! 

I made a shaker panel for the mobile phone portion of the card and again used the retired large number framelits. Don' forget the numbers from the broadway bound speciality designer series paper are a great substitute when you need numbers (except I needed larger numbers for my phone image.) I stamped the background with buffalo check in gorgeous grape for some added interest as well. A simple happy birthday sentiment (from picture perfect birthday stamp set) punched out with the classic label punch completed the greeting and finished off the card nicely.

To create your own mobile phone shaker card, cut a 11.3cm x 6.6cm (4 7/16" x 9/16") rectangle and cut out a 8.7cm x 5.7cm (3 3/8" x 2 1/4") approx. 1cm (3/8") from the top. Mat it on a 12cm x 7.2cm (4 3/4" x 2 3/4") rectangle. Round all the corners if you wish.
Use punched circles to create a button at the bottom of the phone (I used a 3/8" circle and one from the owl punch, sadly both retired Stampin' Up! punches). 

To complete the inside of the card, I googled and found a verse that had words about Facebook and Twitter but Nikki doesn't use those. I modified it to read what she does you and included this inside the card:
"I thought about texting you, snapchatting you or tagging you on Instagram, but some things are better the old-fashioned way… so I emailed you instead!"
Made both her and I giggle and she appreciated my lack of social media tagging.

Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas #9 2018

For today's Heart of Christmas creation, I have a shaker card to share.
I have used the Christmas staircase thinlets die to cut the shape of the tree and be shaker panel. I filled it with sequins and seed beads. Basic colouring with Stampin' Blends helped complete the card front quickly.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #19 Garden Green

Our nineteenth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is garden green from the regals collection. I have chosen garden green, early espresso and so saffron from the color coach to work with today.

The colour colour garden green really stumped me for a while this week. Everything I was thinking off had green as the minority and not the focus and I kept on dismissing idea after idea. Eventually I settled on stamping a buffalo check pattern and decided to add in some lines with stampin' write markers to bring in the early espresso and so saffron and make my own DSP. I still had no idea what I was going to do with my DSP other than I was going to use it on my card some how!

After abandoning my card for a while, the John Deere logo/colours came to me. They were close to the colours I was using and I decided to try and make a punch art tractor to work with my DIY background paper. I went with a quick and easy typewriter sentiment for simplicity to complete the card.


To recreate the punch art tractor, these are the following punches (or substitutes) I used:
Letter “L” from large letter framelits for the seat (so saffron)
Letter “T” from little letters thinlets dies for the steering wheel (retired) (early espresso)
4cm x 3.5cm (1 10/16” x 1 3/8”) rectangle for the tractor body (cut the left hand side off with paper snips and round top right hand corner off) (garden green)
Layering circles framelits for the wheels (except the smaller so saffron circle is the 3/4” circle punch and [retired] 3/8” circle is used for the very centre of the wheels) (early espresso and so saffron)
Classic label punch for the back panel and roof section (garden green)
0.6cm (1/4”) strip of cardstock for the chimney cut on the trimmer and cut on an angle with paper snips (early espresso)

Creating with Stampin' Up! World Card Making Day Products

Today is World Card Making Day and I took the opportunity to create today for me. Not for a class, a blog hop, an upcoming birthday or any other reason and it was just what the doctor ordered. It has been a while since I have had "me" time in my craft room and I'll be honest, I have missed it.

I made two cards today and I am calling them two for one. I used a die cut from the soft sayings card kit and sponge daubers and created a die cut frame and background image. Hence the two for one tag line I am using.


As I backed the die cut frame on black cardstock it has helped the colours of the frame "pop" a lot more and the white lines on the background image make the colours I used appear more subtle and subdued, compared to the die cut frame (despite them being the exact same colours). It is interesting how the additional elements you add to a card affects the overall look and colour of it. 

These are the colours I used to sponge dauber onto the die cut and to create the background panel.
To finished off the die cut frame card kept it as simple as I could so the focus was on the die cut image. I used die cut accents from the soft sayings kit and an additional stamp set (jar of love).

I turned the background image into a shaker card. Basic pearl jewels (coloured with Stampin' Blends marker) were placed in the centre of the flowers and dazzling diamonds in floats in the shaker portion of the card. I stamped on the window sheet with staz on (and detailed with love stamp set) and finished off the card from with some fussy cut stamp images (from Soft Sayings Card Kit).
