Our seventeenth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is flirty flamingo from the brights collection. I have chosen flirty flamingo, merry merlot and soft suede from the color coach to work with today.
With todays colour combination I created a paint chip or colour block background using my chosen colours from the colour coach as the base of my card. It's difficult to see, but I also ran the background layer through the big shot using the subtle dynamic textured impressions embossing folder to create a very subtle texture. With my base layer created, I added additional elements (stamped and punched out shapes and die cut wording) on top of the background. I finished the card off with the saying "to you" on whisper white cardstock with flag ends typed on my vintage typewriter.
Close up
To create my two tone sentiment multipurpose adhesive sheets were a big help!
I used a piece of scrap paper and a piece of multipurpose adhesive sheet and adhered the merry merlot and flirty flamingo cardstock to the scrap cardstock. Then I used another piece of multipurpose adhesive sheet on the back of my scrap paper so I could adhere my die cut shape to my card front.

What a stunning colour combination Ros and your use of the subtle embossing folder is wonderful. Thanks for hopping along tonight!

So bright & cheery, Ros, and I love the big, bold sentiment on the inside!

Love the contrasting colours of the background and happy birthday. I so love that subtle embossing folder.

Very cool how you have reversed the colour combo for the Happy Birthday :)

That is such a snazzy technique. The window sheets would be handy - I forgot we had those. Love your colours.

Great card Ros, I love a good old vintage typewriter. How pretty are Flirty Flamingo and Merry Merlot together?!
