Our sixteenth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is early espresso from the neutrals collection. I have chosen early espresso, coastal cabana and garden green from the color coach to work with today.
Often, my card idea and finished card vary greatly from each other and this week is a perfect example of that. I was going for a watercolored background with die cut dragonflies and a thank you sentiment (so the finished cards could be used for customers orders). As you can see, I achieved all of the above but not a simplified design that can be easily recreated many times over. The inlaid embossing technique with the die cut whilst it is extremely pretty, it is very time consuming.

Going back to the drawing board, I came up with version 2 of my thank you card for my customers that is easier and quicker to reproduce. No inlaid embossing this time but I used the baby wipe technique on the dragonfly wings instead (and then coloured the wings with wink of stella for added bling).

Just stunning cards Ros, I love them both but I think the first one is my favourite. Thanks for joining the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog tonight.

Two great cards Ros, I love that inlaid embossing technique and I'm yet to try the baby wipe technique, I must give it a try.

Both great cards Ros. I loved hearing about your creative process and it's great to see Dragonfly Dreams being used again.

I love them both Ros, the colours go together really well and make the dragonflies stand out.

Wow, those backgrounds are amazing! I can never get mine looking that good. I love both cards, but my definite favourite is the first.
