Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #9 Call Me Clover

Our ninth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "call me clover" from the 2018 - 2010 in color collection. I have chosen call me clover, flirty flamingo & petal pink to work with today. Well, we are going to pretend I worked with petal pink (as I was writing this post up after I finished my card I realised I used powder pink instead! Whoops!
Along with my muck up of the colours, I also used bermuda bay and granny apple green to complete my leaf and water scene. 


My 15 year old son just got his first job (at Mc Donalds) and not that I am giving him this card but this would be a perfect card congratulating someone on a new job, baby girl or something else exciting! Going with that excitement, I couldn't help make this a shaker card. One of my favourite kind of cards to make as they always bring a smile to the receivers face no matter what age. 

I have used the fabulous flamingo stamp set to create todays card. Along with ink and cardstock (if you ignore the shaker components) it is a basic card to recreate. How often does a card that is decorated on both the outside and inside use only one stamp set? It's great when you have a stamp set that has fabulous coordinating sentiments useful for various occasions.

Mixing Old Stampin' Up! Products With New...

My 11 year old daughter was going to a birthday party for a soccer mad girlfriend and she asked for a specific card for her. A soccer themed card with a ball (of course), grass and sky. Using the now retired hexagon hive thinlets I created the soccer ball in a snap with the layering circle framelits and the big shot. After deciding the card was a little plain I pulled out the also retired large number framelits to create a shaker card. (The broadway bound designer series paper would be a great addition for numbers if you didn't want to create a shaker card).

The it's your birthday sentiment finished off the card nicely don't you think?

Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper Blog Hop

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring designer series paper. This month, Stampin’ Up! have a special on designer series paper, buy 3, get 1 free! We hope our blog hop inspires you to get crafting with your designer series paper.

I have used the Under the Mistletoe designer series paper for both my projects today. I love how the one pack of Christmas paper has some many varied patterns and different looks to create many stunning projects. 
I have two projects to share today and both were made using the simply scored scoring tool. While you can get a metric plate for the scoring tool, today I only used the original board on it's own.


Project 1 is a gift bag that you can slip the ribbon off sideways to make it reusable. I love how the gift bag makes the large print designer series paper a statement piece without being obnoxious. 

I made my gift bag in an unusual way. I took a 8.5" x 12" of designer series paper and scored (and adhered it together) to create an open box and then used another small piece of designer series paper to create the flap (that I added on afterwards.) While this is not the traditional way to made a "bag" it saves designer series paper as usually you cut away a lot of excess paper and have small sections leftover with score lines.
The graphic may help explain what I did a little better.
Blue = adhesive, red = cut lines & green = paper you cut off and discard
Opps, I just noticed, I forgot to add adhesive lines for the base of the gift bag. My apologises!
 
Project 2 is an ornament made with real red cardstock and 1" pieces of designer series paper. I left the top of my ornament unsealed and closer to Christmas I may sneak some lollies or a small gift inside as a surprise for the recipient.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #8 Cajun Craze

Our eighth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "cajun craze" from the regals collection. I have chosen to use cajun craze, so saffron and old olive for my card this week.

When I looked at the three colours (cajun craze, so saffron and old olive) all I kept on seeing was a reddish brick wall with yellow flowers and leaves! That is what I did my best to make today's card look like.


Each "brick" is individual cut and measures 1" x 1/2" and stamped with timeless textures to try and look "realistic" like a brick.

Stampin' Up! Reflection/Mirror Technique ATCs

Each month I am joining fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators in our greater team and we are making ATC's based on a technique. The theme for June reflection or mirror technique (using the stamparatus). I did a literal spin on the mirror technique and had my hippopotamus looking into the mirror asking a mate "Does this make me look fat?"

Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #7 Blushing Bride

Our seventh colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "blushing bride" from the subtles collection. I have chosen to work with blushing bride, poppy parade and pumpkin pie for my creation today.

I made todays card to fit an envelope I had made using the envelope punch board (after previously making it the wrong size for a card!) I used the celebrate you thinlit dies to create an inlaid sentiment and the triple banner punch was used for the "flag ends".

Try it Thursday #18 - Painted Glass

Last week I shared a Painted Glass "Try it Thursday" card and this week I have another for you. Again, this one was inspired by Kylie Bertucci. 
I used the Stampin' Up! colour coach to find my colour combination with Balmy Blue as my starting colour and mixed it with Poppy Parade & Crushed Curry.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #6 Blueberry Bushel

Our sixth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "blueberry bushel" from the 2018 - 2010 in color collection. I have chosen blueberry bushel, call me clover & calypso coral to work with today. 

I did my favourite technique using inkpads and a stampin' spritzer (video to come soon!) I coloured in my birthday sentiment with a basic black stampin' write marker and went over the black font with a fine tip glue pen. I completed the sentiment with heat embossing the "happy" in black embossing powder.

Try it Thursday #17 - Painted Glass

Today's painted glass card is CASED by fellow Stampin' Up! demo Kylie Bertucci. I barely changed anything except used a birthday sentiment and daffodil delight cardstock. If its a good thing, something there is no need to make changes!
It was very therapeutic colouring in the shapes. Perfect to take to my kids sport activities. I just had the card front and stampin' blends in full wide stamp case and tucked it in my handbag. The stamp case was great for protecting my card front but also gave me a great surface to colour in.
