Our second colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is "Basic Gray" from the neutrals collection. As with last week (and hopefully every colour creations blog hop) I am using the colour coach that Stampin' Up! supplied. I have chosen basic grey, pear pizzazz and poppy parade for my creation today.
The colour combination screamed an apple to me and I created a thank you card for my daughters teacher. I figured it doesn't hurt to be organised and early in the lead up to Christmas (the school year finishes in December here in Australia.) I had my daughter write "thank you" as the focal sentiment rather than using a stamp to create a personal touch.
Running the apple shape through the big shot with the maps etc. dynamic textured impressions embossing folder adds a lot of interest and dimension to the card. Tone on tone basic gray stamping using lined alphabet also adds another layer of visual interest to the background.
Catherine is hosting the colour creations blog each week and she has links for all the other ladies participating.
