Today, I am taking part in the very first Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. Our first colour we are focusing on is "Balmy Blue". A new colour in the subtles collection.
Stampin' Up! kindly supplied a link for an online colour coach and I used one of the selection of colours on the balmy blue swatch for todays card.
I used balmy blue, night of navy and granny apple green and here's the card I came up with. I'll be honest, it was a little difficult to work with the balmy blue as the only balmy blue product I had available at the time was cardstock. No inkpad, designer series paper etc. I love to ink the edges of all my cards and couldn't for this one. I have temporarily adhered my cards together (so when my inkpad arrives) I can ink the edges of the cardstock.
I made my card neutral to keep the focus on the navy scallop panel. However, I did stamp the whisper white cardstock with the "scroll" from falling flowers and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to add a little interest.
To get the night of navy scallop design, I used delightfully detailed laser cut speciality paper and a sponge brayer and re-coloured it.
I also used the rest of the scalloped panel and created a second card. This one I stamped happy birthday and kept it even simpler.

LOL Snap on the colour coach and colour combo Ros! This reminds me so much of the Urban Garden DSP a million years ago with Not Quite Navy, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party! I can see us creating a lot of cards in these colours!

I love how you've inked the laser cut DSP card Ros...the Balmy Blue really pops against the night of navy and the granny apple green. Thanks for joining our very first AWH Colour Creations blog hop!
