Stampin' Up! Retiring Products Blog Hop

Last chance products I have used today on my shaker card are birthday wit & confetti celebration stamp sets, picture perfect party designer series paper stack, dazzling diamonds glimmer paper, peekaboo peach cardstock and inkpad. I'm a bit sad that birthday wit stamp set is going as it works for many different birthday celebrations. 

I have used the "sprinkles" from picture perfect birthday to give my shaker card frame a bit of "pizzazz" prior to adhering it to the window sheet (along with my normal sponge daubing any cardstock or design series paper). Quick fussy cutting of the "happy birthday" portion of the sentiment and popping it up on dimensionals also allows it to stand out some more.

Stampin' Up! 11th Birthday Acrobatics Shaker Card

My youngest daughter turned 11 this week and over on my Facebook business page I posted a card I was trying to get done before she finished her acrobatics class.

Thankfully, she was thrilled with the card and loved the shaker aspect of it. It's amazing how a shaker card intrigues people of all ages

Stampin' Up! Spotlight Technique ATC's

Each month I am joining fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators in our greater team and we are making ATC's based on a technique. The theme for February was spotlight technique. I had fun colouring in the "Just Add Color" speciality designer series paper with my stampin' blends.
Just a note, the Just Add Color DSP is on the last chance products list if you want to get your hands on some.

Usually, when I make ATC's they are all the same but because the DSP had different patterns on the sheet, I made the same "version" but slightly different.

Stampin' Up! Male Card Class featuring True Gentleman Designer Series Paper

The true gentlemen suite certainly makes masculine cards pretty quick and simple. I love the mix of the blue (night of navy) and green (tranquil tide) together. It certainly throws the old saying of "blue and green should never been seen except with a colour in between" out the window!
I made these 2 cards quickly and so did my ladies who attended the class.

Stampin' Up! Last Chance Products List & Colour Revamp

It's that time of year again when the annual Stampin' Up! retirement list is released.

Stampin’ Up! makes a point of regularly reviewing their colour spectrum to ensure that they remain consistently on top of the trends. So, after 5 years of our current core colours, it is time for a Colour Revamp! In order to keep bringing us the most current and on trend colours, they decided it was time to give our colour collections a makeover.

How does it work?
There are still 4 colour collections, each with 10 colours. There is also a new colour group called Basics. In order to keep our colour collections to exclusive Stampin’ Up! colours, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Whisper White have been moved out of the Neutrals collection. A few other colours have been moved into the Neutrals collection, making it more exciting and colourful! 

Some additional colours have changed collections as well. These changes were based on needing to maintain colour balance in our updated collections. For example, Poppy Parade is now the brightest red so it is part of the Brights collection, and Real Red has moved into the Regals collection.

In Colors 
There are no changes to the In Color programme. Every two years we will continue to introduce five new In Colors that will be available for the ensuing two years. We also have previous In Colors that are returning and joining our core colours. Welcome back: Mossy Meadow, Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana, Mint Macaron and Blackberry Bliss!

So, the all important question - which colours are leaving?

Note that Flirty Flamingo is leaving as an In Color, but returning as a core colour in the Brights Collection.

If any of these are your favourites, stock up on cardstock, accessories and ink refills now, before they are gone!

In addition, the inkpad case style has been updated with a fresh new look. It is now easier to open, more air-tight and stackable! All inkpads ordered after June 1 will be in the new style, and will increase in price by $1.50.

Stampin' Up! Happy Celebrations Basketball Thank You Card

For the summer season basketball thank you cards I made, I used the fabulous "eclipse" technique and teamed it up with my Silhouette machine (as I have NO basketball stamps!) My Silhouette drew the basketballs on whisper white paper (and looked amazing) and I used the smaller circle from happy celebrations in peekaboo peach to "colour" in the basketballs. 

I then ran the cardstock through my Silhouette again to cut out the words "Thank You". I also previously cut out 4 seperate thank you in basic black cardstock that I glued together with Tombo adhesive and layered under the whisper white thank you words for added dimension. Of course the large letters framelits and big shot could do the same work but as I was making multiples of the card I tried to make it as easy as possible.


In just over a week or so, the annual product retiring list will be released. If you don't want to miss out any of the hot selling items, I'd suggest getting your orders in quick smart for the 2016 - 2018 in color products.
