Art with Heart Sketch Blog Hop

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring a card sketch. We hope you like how we have each put our own spin on the sketch and that it inspires you to get creative and make some fabulous cards. If you are inspired by the sketch, please share with us!

This is the card sketch we are all using.You may have come to my blog from Sue Madex. Blog hops are full circles, so start blog hopping here and and at the end of my post (and everyone else's) there is a link to the next post.

Today I have a card using the sketch as featured above. I did "stretch" the sketch somewhat and changed the orientation of my card. The is my favourite thing about sketches, they are a fabulous starting point for you but a tweak here or there and you can change the look completely with a few minor changes.

I have used the amazing Joyous Noel speciality designer series paper and glimmer paper on my card today along with the Christmas Pines stamp set. I love the subtle copper in the designer series paper and how elegant it makes cards look. A few copper accents is all my card needed to be "complete" after the basic design of the card.


As I made a custom sized card (it measures 11.4cm x 16.5cm [4 1/2" x 6 1/2"]) I've whipped up an envelope on the envelope punch board. I added a piece of designer series paper on the back of the envelope to tie it into the card. This is also a great way to use up some of your designer series paper stash if you need help!

Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas #15 2018

Welcome to our final week of Heart of Christmas blog hops for 2018. 15 weeks have gone by rather quickly haven't they? Like the past few weeks, I again have another Santa's Workshop card featuring the memories and more card kit to share again this week. I am sure I mention this week after week, these cards come together quickly and easily which is what you want when putting together lots of Christmas cards.

This card is a 4" x 6" I trimmed down and matted and added a heat embossed sentiment to and some stickers from the card kit. I used stampin' dimensionals to pop the stickers up for an added wow factor. A small amount of inking on the coastal cabana "sky" portion of the card and the card is all completed apart from adhering it all together! Pretty quick and easy, didn't I tell you?

Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas #6 2018

This week I am using Signs of Santa mixed with under the mistletoe designer series paper for a pretty simply card that would be quite easy to mass produce. I used stampin' blends to colour in the santa but if you die cut santa from santa's workshop speciality designer series paper the card would come together even quicker!

I haven't photographed it but the pool party oval the letters J & Y and the santa sit on is die cut from the pool party matt that the designer series paper covers. It is a great way to save cardstock and no one would ever know if you didn't tell them! I made this card in a class recently and the ladies loved the tip of die cutting extras from the matt.

Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas #5 2018

This week for my fifth Heart of Christmas creation I have used the stunning beautiful baubles stamp set which is perfect for colouring in and I've used Stampin' Blends to colour in my large bauble. Below is the colours I've used to colour in my bauble which together look to be a little interesting but with the dark and light shades available in the Stampin' Blends I think it worked well in the end.

After I stamped the panel for the inside of the card, I realised it would look pretty nice as a card front with a little tweaking.... Hmmm, future card idea?

Stampin' Up! In Color Blog Hop

I've used all 10 in colours that will be current in the 2018 - 2019 annual catalogue and a bundle of circle punches to create tonights card along with a tiny bit of stamping and designer series paper. 

On the inside I decorated it with birthday wit stamp set and for the  "Happy Birthday" portion I used sponge daubers to apply lovely lipstick, berry burst, blueberry bushel, call me clover and pineapple punch inks to create the rainbow colour sentiment.

Stampin' Up! Male Spinner Birthday Card featuring Birthday Wit

Today's post is showing off a spinner card I made using a digital print (for the car) and simple cutting of cardstock to complete the rest of the card. 

It's the first time I have ever used two sets of coins on a spinner card, but only one set was making the car slant one way or another!

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Day Flower Card #2

After sharing yesterday's Beautiful Day flower card, I had a go at another one. This time, heat embossing the flower and colouring it with my inkpads and aqua painter. I used a retired design series paper but the lovely tutti fruit designer series paper stack from the occasions catalogue has a lovely black and white stripe that would work great. That is what I wanted to use but had ran out... Boo!

Do you like the happy birthday sentiment I used? It is from the birthday wit stamp set (which is very sadly retiring) and I used my paper snips to only cut out the happy birthday portion and cut it into two to fit in the space left on my card.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Day Flower Card

I had a idea pop into my head the other day which is not a new technique, but a new colouring "tool" to me at least. Colouring with the sponge daubers! I had never done it before with a stamped image. The flower image from Beautiful Day stamp set is perfect to practise my sponge dauber colouring with as a the nice open wide space the flower has. I stamped the flower in fresh fig ink and used sweet sugarplum for the flower petals. Daffodil delight finished off the centre of the flower with wild wasabi leaves.
