Welcome back for week 12 of the Heart of Christmas cards. This week, I have used the "Detailed Santa Thinlets" mixed with the "Hearth & Home Framelits" to create my card.
As always, the step by step instructions to recreate my card are at the end of this blog post.
Close up
Inside card (I always include a family update with my Christmas cards, along with a photo of the kids hence there is no "personal" message inside the card)
Step by step instructions to create you own card (inches are in bold)
If desired ink all edges of cardstock/DSP etc. using coordinating inkpads and sponge daubers
1. Cut real red cardstock 20cm x 14.5cm (7 7/8" x 5 6/8") & score at 10cm (4") and set aside
2. Print "He see's you when you're sleeping..." onto crumb cake cardstock. I used a font I downloaded from the internet for the words on the front (and inside of the card) called Desert Queen (size 36 font)
3. Cut crumb cake cardstock (with printed sentiment) to 9.5cm x 14cm (3 3/4" x 5 1/2") so that the sentient is on the right hand side of the card
4. Die cut out a "window" from hearth & home framelits using desired cardstock/DSP (I used wood textures DSP stack) and also die cut detailed santa thinlets in whisper white cardstock. Die cut santa as many times as required to get the glasses frame/lenses in black/soft sky, santa hat in real red, santa's face in powder pink, santa hat fluff/beard in glimmer paper and sky in a blue (I used more of my leftover scraps from the shaving cream galaxy technique)
If you adhere multipurpose adhesive sheets onto the back of your cardstock before die cutting it makes it a lot easier to stick fiddly die cuts in place.
5. Adhere all the die cut detailed santa pieces onto a piece of scrap paper (and draw eyes in using basic black marker) and adhere the window frame on top of the Santa and cut away excess scrap paper able to be seen outside the window frame. Stick window frame onto crumb cake card (from step 3)
6. Using stampin' write markers colour in the holly leaf (from Carols of Christmas) and stamp twice onto the crumb cake cardstock (top right and bottom left of the sentiment)
7. Adhere the crumb cake cardstock onto the real red card front and use the fine tip glue pen to add "shine" to the red part of the stamped holly leaf images
