Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas featuring Christmas Pines #2

Welcome back for week 5 of the Heart of Christmas cards. This week I again used the annual catalogue to inspire my card from page 121. As always, the step by step instructions to recreate my card are at the end of this blog post.

Step by step instructions to create you own card (inches are in bold)
If desired ink all edges of cardstock/DSP etc. using coordinating inkpads and sponge daubers

1. Cut emerald envy cardstock 20cm x 14.5cm (7 7/8" x 5 6/8") & score at 10cm (4") and set aside
2. Cut crumb cake cardstock 9.5cm x 14cm (3 3/4" x 5 1/2") and cut pear pizzazz 9cm x 13.5cm (3 1/2" x 5 5/8") and set aside
3. Cut real red cardstock 9cm x 13.5cm (3 1/2" x 5 5/8") and randomly stamp "Merry Christmas" from Better Together in real red ink
4. Stamp the "frame" image from Christmas Pines in crumb cake inkpad (onto whisper white cardstock) and fussy cut using paper snips
5. Stamp "Noel" from Christmas Pines in emerald envy inkpad (onto whisper white cardstock) and fussy cut using paper snips and adhere onto the "frame" image from step 4
6. Die cut images from pretty pines thinlets in crumb cake, old olive, pear pizzazz and real red (or retired red foil) cardstock
7. Die cut emerald envy cardstock using die from flourish thinlets (it is the one with circles on the end of branches)
8. Adhere the die cut images behind the noel image (which is popped up using stampin' dimensionals)
9. Adhere the real red cardstock onto the crumb cake cardstock and adhere the final piece onto the emerald envy card front

Stampin' Up! My Favourite New Product Bundle

I am focusing on the oh so eclectic bundle from page 133 of the catalogue.

The diamond shaped framelit is my favourite and I loved using it on the outside and the inside of my card tonight. Otherwise my card is almost a complete CASE from the catalogue. I couldn't help it, I loved the design and had to tweak it a little to make it more me. I even added some seed beads to the centres of my diamonds for a little bit of added extra bling.

Tip for adhering the leftover diamond pieces. Create yourself a template out of cardstock and store it with the dies. It helps you line the diamond shapes up perfectly and holds them in place while the adhesive dries.

Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas featuring Holly Berry Happiness

Welcome back for another week of the Heart of Christmas cards. This week I have made two almost identical cards only one has cardstock and the bow builder punch vs ribbon for the "ribbon" on the present. Todays card is a no fail one I have made many time overs and that is to make a "present" of the card front. It is even quicker if you use DSP compared to stamping with the Holly Berry Happiness stamp set which is a 2 step stamp set. 
As usual, there is step by step instructions at the end of the blog post.

Card 1 - with bow builder punch [my favourite version out of the two because I think the ribbon I used, (which can be found on the clearance rack,) is a little to skinny]

I forgot to take a photo of the inside of the card today because I was concentrating on getting one of each the different fronts. I will take one of the inside when the weather is good.

Step by step instructions to create you own card (inches are in bold)
If desired ink all edges of cardstock/DSP etc. using coordinating inkpads and sponge daubers

1. Cut always artichoke cardstock 20cm x 14.5cm (7 7/8" x 5 6/8") & score at 10cm (4") and set aside
2. Cut crumb cake cardstock 9.5cm x 14cm (3 3/4" x 5 1/2") and cut pear pizzazz 9cm x 13.5cm (3 1/2" x 5 5/8") and set aside
3. Cut very vanilla cardstock 1.3cm x 8.5cm (1/2" x 3 1/4") and stamp "Best wishes for the season" in memento ink on the cardstock strip and set aside
4. Stamp "To" from "Oh, what fun" stamp set on the back of the corrugated elements tag and set aside
5. Stamp line image of holly leaves from "Holly Berry Happiness" in always artichoke ink randomly over the pear pizzazz cardstock
6. Stamp the 2 step stamping holly leaves (that coordinates with the stamp used in step 5) in pear pizzazz ink filling in the line images
7. Using a real red stampin' write marker, draw red dots randomly near the holly leaves
8. Using ribbon [or 1cm (6/16") real red strips of cardstock] adhere in the top right hand corner with the ribbon or cardstock crossing over to create a "T" shape
9. Thread linen thread through the tag from step 4 and adhere in place so that the "bow" will cover the knot when adhered. I also place a small amount of adhesive under the tag so it doesn't swing around
10. Tie a bow (or use the bow builder punch with real red paper) and adhere over the "T" you created it in step 8
11. Adhere the pear pizzazz cardstock onto the crumb cake cardstock and mount onto the always artichoke card. Finish off the card by adhering the sentiment in the bottom right hand corner using stampin' dimensionals

Stampin' Up! In Color ATC's

Each month I am joining fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators in my team and we are making ATC's based on a theme. 10 themes for the 10 years that I will have been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator for (in September 2017). Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas featuring Christmas Pines

Welcome back for week 3 of the Heart of Christmas cards. This week I have basically used the same textured technique as last week (faux silk) but this time I used the brown packaging paper that comes with my Stampin' Up! orders. As usual, there is step by step instructions at the end of the blog post.

I love that not only is this a fun playful Christmas card but the tree image and textured packaging paper would also make a great ATC or gift tag.

Inside card


Step by step instructions to create you own card (inches are in bold)
If desired ink all edges of cardstock/DSP etc. using coordinating inkpads and sponge daubers
1. Cut whisper white thick cardstock 29cm x 10cm (11 7/16" x 4") & score at 14.5cm (5 6/8") and set aside
2. Cut lemon lime twist cardstock 14cm x 9.5cm (5 1/2" x 3 3/4") and whisper white cardstock 13.5cm x 9cm (5 5/8" x 3 1/2")
3. Cut brown packaging paper larger than cardstock you are mounting it onto. You will need scrap cardstock that is 10cm x 7.5cm (4" x 3") 
4. Crumple up brown packaging paper and gently flatten it back out. Using a glue stick, cover the scrap cardstock with glue and lay the brown packaging paper onto the scrap cardstock (which is covered in glue)
5. Fold over the edges of excess packaging paper and adhere in place using adhesive
6. Stamp "sparkles" stamp from Christmas Pines stamp set in crumb cake onto brown packaging cardstock panel
7. Using washi tape (or stamped cardstock/DSP) cut 1.3cm (1/2") strips and adhere onto another piece of scrap cardstock that is at least 9cm x 6.5cm (3 1/2" x 2 1/2"). Once cardstock is covered in paper strips/washi tape, cut into a triangle
8. Cut a 1.3cm (1/2") strip of soft suede cardstock approx. 2.5cm in length (1") for the tree trunk
9. Adhere the tree trunk and triangle tree onto the stamped packaging paper background and adhere onto whisper white cardstock an even distance from the card top and left/right sides
10. Stamps 'Tis The Season in pacific point ink below the Christmas tree
11. Adhere the whisper white cardstock onto the lemon lime twist cardstock and adhere onto the whisper white card
12. Complete card with a gold faceted gem on the top of the tree

Stampin' Up! Swirly Bird Kissing Technique ATC

Stampin' Up! Heart of Christmas, Oh What Fun Card

Welcome back for week 2 of the Heart of Christmas cards. This week I have pulled out one of my favourite textured techniques to create a "faux silk" background which I stamped HO HO HO repeatedly on. If you don't know how to do a faux silk background, follow the step by step instructions at the end of this post to learn and to create you own card.

Step by step instructions to create you own card (inches are in bold)
1. Cut red tissue paper larger than cardstock you are mounting it onto (9cm x 13.5cm (3 1/2" x 5 5/8")) and randomly stamp HO HO HO in real red ink over the tissue paper and set it aside to dry
2. Cut garden green cardstock 20cm x 14.5cm (7 7/8" x 5 6/8") & score at 10cm (4") and set aside
3. Cut crumb cake cardstock 9.5cm x 14cm (3 3/4" x 5 1/2") and cut real red cardstock 9cm x 13.5cm (3 1/2" x 5 5/8")
4. Crumple up red tissue paper and gently flatten it back out. Using a glue stick, cover the real red cardstock with glue and lay the tissue paper onto the side with the glue
6. Fold over the edges of excess tissue paper and adhere in place
7. Stamp "Santa" from Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set in basic black ink onto watercolor paper and colour image in using real red, basic grey and pink pirouette stampin' write markers. Use Wink of Stella to apply sparkle to the "white portions" of Santa except for his beard
8. Stamp "Happy Christmas" from Oh, What Fun stamp set in basic black ink onto shimmery white cardstock and die cut out using stitched shapes framelits
9. Die cut out scalloped oval from layering oval framelits in crumb cake (so it has a slight boarder around the stitched oval shape from step 9)
10. Die cut out 3 "pine" pieces from pretty pines thinelets in garden green
11. Adhere Happy Christmas sentiment onto crumb cake oval and adhere pine pieces behind the scalloped oval. Adhere onto real red cardstock slightly to the left to allow for the Santa to adhere in place on the right hand side (and adhere Santa in place)
12. Adhere real red cardstock onto crumb cake and adhere onto garden green card front

Stampin' Up! Hawthorn AFL Punch Art Birthday Card

I threw my hands in on my craft desk and got busy making a Hawthorn AFL (Australia Football League) birthday card as a request for a blog reader. She had seen this card I made and wanted a Hawthorn one. I made it a square 6" x 6" card as I couldn't fit it onto a regular card (for me that is 14.5cm x 10cm or 5 6/8" x 4").

I even hand stitched in some details on the football and on the football boots. I was wanting to tie bows on the footy boots but I thought I might drive myself crazy trying!

Stampin' Up! Soft Sayings Stamps By Mail

This year, I am running my regular classes from home but I am also running classes for my long distance customers or people who can't make it at set class times, called stamps by mail. 
Each month for 2107, I will focus on one stamp set and create 3 birthday cards featuring the themed stamp set and a limited selection of products. There is no charge for the class which will be e-mailed to you via PDF on the 20th of the month.
For June, the birthday cards are all from the "soft sayings card kit" from the new annual catalogue.

Soft sayings card kit and 2017 - 2019 in color A4 cardstock pack total $75.00
The soft sayings card kit is an all inclusive card kit that I have modified to create 3 birthday cards. You will still have lots of leftover additional materials to make most of the cards in the kit. Refills for the card kit can also be purchased for $37.00.
