It was my wedding anniversary this week (8 years) and my youngest daughter snapped this photo of the two of us on Tuesday.

I made hubby a card CASED from one I had seen online because it made me giggle. Hubby had a chuckle as well!

Easter blog hop

Tonight I am participating in a blog hop along with the super talented ladies in the Art With Heart Team. I've reached into the archives and found these photos of my youngest daughter making a punch art Easter bunny for my scrapbook layout. 

I've used the faux embossing technique on the crumb cake background and have inked the bunnies so they stand out a little. The bunny above the word "making" is hidden and when you pull on the pull tab it reveals the journaling.

Journaling reads: Bella loved crafting, just like Mum. She had a great time trying punch art. Age: almost 3 years old. April 1st, 2010.

Stampin' Up! Inside The Lines DSP - Try It Thursday #12

Sara Douglass (Stampin' Up!'s CEO) shared a Facebook Live video this week using the emboss resist technique with the free sale-a-bration designer series paper, inside the lines. I loved how the paper "design" jumped from the page and had to give it a go. Of course, I don't own the brushstrokes stamp Sara used so I improvised with the line image from work of art.

Stampin' Up! Gorgeous Grunge & Timeless Textures 13th Birthday Card

There is nothing like remembering to make a birthday card the night before a party and whipping it up from start to finish in less than an hour! That is what I did with today's card. Not having enough 13th birthday cards in my stash (especially for boys) I created this grunge-y looking number. It would be quite easy to make it a little more feminine with pinks/purples/orange/yellow/aqua also.

I stamped all colours at full strength except the tip top taupe. When I stamped it on the #13 I stamped off on scrap paper first before stamping the cross hatch design so it wasn't as strong and wouldn't compete with the other colours I used.

Did you notice, I used 3 of the 5 retiring in colors on this card? Tip top taupe, cucumber crush and watermelon wonder.

Stampin' Up! Happy Celebrations Birthday Card with #GDP077

*Note, this card was a last minute addition in my March fine tip coloured glue pen class because I loved it so much.

I have a little more time on my hands this long weekend in Victoria (Labour Day public holiday) as I don't have basketball 7 days a week, (I've had 2 whole days off!!!) so I made decided to play with Global Design Project 077 - Colour Challenge.
The colour I decided to add in was Melon Mambo. 

I thought the bermuda bay cardstock was looking a bit plain so I took inspiration from the playful palette designer series paper stack and used the work of art stamp set to create a pattern.

 I paired the very versatile "jar of love" stamp set with the Just Add Ink #350... "sketch" to come up with today's floral combination.

I've also used the lovely sweet sugarplum ribbon from the Succulent Garden Ribbon Combo Pack featured in the Occasions catalogue. It ties a lovely bow and sits on the card fabulously.

It's been a while since I've created a Try it Thursday card and today's card was inspired by this lovely one from Amanda Bates and I made it a Z fold card for a bit of added pizzazz. I think it is perfect for the hard working farmers in my family. 

I used the timeless textures stamp to add some background texture on my emerald envy cardstock.
