Father's day card

It is Father's day here in Australia this coming Sunday and I made a card featuring the double pleated technique using retired paper for a masculine look. I am featuring this technique in my monthly techniques class for September. Places available in the September 2nd, 7pm class and the September 13th, 10am class. Contact me to book in.

I did my favourite subtle background technique by typing text on my computer, in this case it say Happy Father's Day all over the sahara sand background.

Todays card was my rejected card from the Case the Catty blog hop I took part in.

CTC 92 Everyday Occasions

This week I am guest DT over at Casing the Catty. The theme for the week is Everyday Occasions section which covers pages 66 - 91 in the catalogue. 

The beautiful watercolored butterfly card inspired my card featured on page 72

My take on the card
I've used a leftover panel from my watercolour smoosh class as the watercolored card and echoed the butterfly and black cardstock with white embossed happy birthday sentiment.

Try It Thursday #6

Patty Bennett is the inspiration for this weeks Try It Thursday creation and it has been in my inspiration folder for a few weeks. This week it was the perfect time to CASE it. This week I was locked out of my house when I went to take the kids to school. Thankfully, a neighbour in my street could fit my son in her car for the 10 minute ride to high school and my younger kids could walk to school. Wanting to thank my neighbour I gave her some chocolates but what sort of Stampin' Up! demo would I be to not have a handmade card to accompany said chocolates.

For You Hydrangeas

The thoughtful branches bundle (limited edition August 2016 product) certainly makes a stunning hydrangea doesn't it?

I've blended shimmery white cardstock with wisteria wonder and marina mist ink to create my hydrangea flowers and die cut it twice (mounting one piece upside down for added texture). I've also clear embossed the petals on the hydrangea but it was awfully hard to see in the photos.

Crumpled brown packaging paper (that came with my Stampin' Up! order) created a beautiful textured background when adhered onto cardstock, don't you think?
