My nephew just turned 4 and is loving recognising his name and writing the best he can. Knowing that, I had to put his name on his birthday card and went with my current favourite card style of the moment, concertina card.
The card front was basically CASED from page 21 of the annual catalogue.

I created with this inspiring image for the latest photo inspiration challenge on our team forum.
The triangles/angles inspired the card and I tried to bring in some of the texture on the bedding by using stamping and scrunching cardstock.

My eldest son is now officially a teenager. To celebrate I made him this concertina card and whacked on 8 different stamp sets in 13 different colours/shades! Talk about a lengthy materials used list.
I often find male cards a struggle and this one was no different so I went with my favourite technique for teens, graffiti style.
I used the fine tip glue pen as a replacement for crystal effects on the letters and it worked wonderfully. I cannot tell you how long it took to dry though as I tend to use these things use before I go to bed so I am not tempted "to touch and see if it is dry!"

My upline shared another inspiring photo from her Stampin' Up! incentive trip for our photo inspiration challenge. A beautiful flowering cactus photographed in Barcelona.
Talk about a challenge, I did find this one a bit of a struggle. This was my third attempt at a card using the colours pear pizzazz, peekaboo peach, flirty flamingo and wisteria wonder.
I took 4 pieces of cardstock 13.5cm x 9cm and cut them all at various angles on my trimmer. I have enough card pieces leftover to make 3 other very similar cards.

For this months techniques class I focused on the "faux embossing" technique. I only have one of the cards to share today as they other one is here (I made it as part of the Inspiration Challenge for our team forum.

I had a custom order request for a baby boy card and I couldn't but help give a concertina card a go. I used the babies name "Patrick Eli" across the front of the card with the babies birth stats between his two names. I also left a blank panel at the end of the card to write a personal message.
I rather enjoyed making this card and can see many more popping up on my blog in the near future.
I didn't have a small enough "Congratulations" stamp for the front of the card, so I used my printer and stamped the nappy pin from "Something for Baby" to finish the congratulations panel off.

This week over at Just Add Ink the challenge is to add something starting with "S". I went with strips (very subtle stripes) and sparkle for my Noel Christmas card.
It was a very timely challenge as this card does double duty, my Just Add Ink entry and is also for my Christmas in July card making night which is this Friday.

On our team forum we had this stunning image
for a photo inspiration challenge. It was a stunning photo my upline took in Paris (while she was on the Stampin' Up! incentive trip).
I used the colours from the image, (the pinks, yellows, blues and greens) as they basis for my jar of love card. I also used faux embossing on the background as we also made this card in my July techniques class.
