My baby turned 8 and she had to have fabulous cake to celebrate and here's what she got. It's supposed to be a version of the Cupcake Queen from Shopkins. She thought I was pretty cool. (Always a bonus when that happens.)
I delved into my Stampin' Up! supplies to complete the final details on the cupcake queen (punched shapes for the eyes and cardstock for the crown/bow.

This months techniques class focused on spinner cards.

Next months techniques class is diorama cards and will be held on Friday May 8th at 10am and again at 7pm. Class is usually held on the first Friday of the moth but due to attending Stampin' Up! Gold Coast Convention I have moved the class one week later.

Dropping by with a cute baby card made especially for a new little princess. Using the simply pressed clay and the alphanumeric clay mould custom name cards are a breeze. I love not using up all the "good" letters and being left with the horrible hard to use ones like V and Z.
Just a tip, when putting clay in the mould if you are having trouble getting it out and retaining the shape, pop it in the freezer for 10 - 15 minutes. It won't hurt if you leave it in the freezer for 5 hours either (opps I forgot mine in the freezer for a while and it was fine.)
Another tip featured in Impressions (our bi-monthly Stampin' Up! magazine) were to leave the letters in the mould for 24 hours to dry. I didn't do that and mine lost some shape as they were very soft when removed. I will certainly being letting my letters dry in mould next time.

A sweet happy birthday card for any special female in your life. The card really comes to life with the 3D simply pressed clay flowers for an added pop to the card front.
Tip: You can colour your simply pressed clay creations in a few ways.
- With re-inkers (and wear gloves) before moulding your clay into the mould
- Colouring with stampin' write markers over the finished project (although, this will give you a softer colour)
- Using a sponge dauber and inkpad
- Mix crystal effects with re-inker and "paint" the finished embellishment for a colour glossy finish
Another tip: Adhere your clay embellishments with either Tombo adhesive or Crystal Effects.
