Josh's 11th birthday

After I shared my nephew's 2nd birthday goodness, I can't believe I haven't shared Josh's birthday. He turned 11 BEFORE Noah. Opps!
It was a non birthday party year this year for my boy but he still had a ball and as always was spoilt with love, goodies and lots of Minecraft stuff.

With Josh's love of Minecraft (I took that as the cue for his cake and shock horror, ran out of time to make him a card. Must be better prepared for next year!) 

As with Miss B's birthday in April, I used Hama beads to create cake decoratations.

Thomas the tank engine 2nd birthday

My nephew turned 2 almost 2 months ago now and had a Thomas the Tank engine party. I think its about high time I shared his invite and cake. My sister outdid herself with learning how to use MDS to whip up his Thomas invite. Did you know you can try MDS for free for 30 days? I was tasked with making his birthday cake and of course, he had to have a Thomas the Tank engine cake.
It was my first time using fondant other than just covering the cake, so while it's not perfect, it certainly was a learning experience. 

I like to think the little guy is saying "Oh ahh Aunty Rosie you did a good job!" Ha ha

Noah loved all his presents (and he got a few), his cake and the cake tasted pretty fine also (even if I have to say myself... LOL but then again many people also told me it was yummy.) Now to research what to make for upcoming Miss 10's birthday.

Heel quickly

This "heel quickly" card came together rather easily when I was not 100% (which seemed to be often this past winter). It makes a get well card but would also work for someone who had a foot/ankle procedure also. 

Stampin' Up! materials used:
Stamps: Alphabet rotary stamp
Inkpads: Basic black, crumb cake, pink pirouette
Cardstock: Whisper white, basic black, crumb cake, pink pirouette
Punches: Banner, small oval
Accessories: Very vanilla seam binding ribbon, big shot, perfect polka dots textured impressions embossing folder (retired), oval framelits
Other: Oval punch

Dotty birthday card

Playing around making birthday cards to add to my stockpile for upcoming kids birthday parties. My 9 year old DD loved the sequin bling so I am sure other girlies will too.

Stamps: Age awareness, gorgeous grunge
Inkpads: Real red, melon mambo, pumpkin pie, daffodil delight, tempting turquoise, basic black
Cardstock: Pumpkin pie, whisper white
Other: Sequins and seed beads

Free tutorial - Fathers Day shirt card

Remember this card I posted yesterday? Today, I've got a free tutorial for you. 

I've included free templates to make your own card.

DOWNLOAD TEMPLATE 
Make sure to print template at 100%

1. Score (and then fold) A5 card, 14.8cm x 21cm (approx. 5 7/8" x 8 1/4") gatefold card (score at 5.25cm from either end of the 21cm length)
2. Trace around template 1 and only cut through the top layer of your gatefold card
3. On DSP, trace around template 2 twice and cut out DSP
4. OPTIONAL: Ink edges of cardstock/DSP
5. Adhere DSP onto card front
6. Using the DSP as your guide (on the cardfront), trim the shoulders (I cut through both layers of card at the same time)
7. Score and fold the front collar and adhere in place using a stampin' dimensional
8. Cut a strip of DSP and chipboard (chipboard is for added stability and a slight height dimension) 1cm (approx 1/2") wide (length depends on how long your shirt card it)
9. Adhere your brads/buttons onto the DSP/chipboard strip and adhere onto the card front (you can put the brads through to the inside of the card but I don't hence the chipboard strip as I like the cleaner look it gives)
10. Adhere the collar in place using a stampin' dimensional
11. OPTIONAL: Punch out a tag using the small tag punch, score and fold over a section to create a contrasting trim and adhere to create a pocket.
12. The inside is finished off with a piece of whisper white cardstock 10cm x 12.5cm (approx. 4" x 4 15/16")
