New catalogue blog hop

It's been ages since I've blog hopped but with today being the first day of the new Occasions Stampin' Up! seasonal catalogue and sale-a-bration, when the call came out on one of the Facebook groups I'm in (Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team), I jumped at the chance to join in.

Shaving cream techniques class

Travel journal

For this month and next month I've got some lovely friends visiting from Canada. They are staying with us for a bit here and there and traveling seeing parts of Australia and New Zealand in between. To document their trip of a lifetime, I made Kerri and Wade a travel journal. Silly me forgot to take photos of the inside pages (as I finished it 11.30pm the night before they left) but I did snap a photo of the front cover.

For the journal interior pages, we shopped my DSP stash and I used chipboard and basic black cardstock for the covers. I had the album spiral bound at a local office supply store. As for the lettering, I took cues from where they are travelling and used a combination of punched shapes, stickers, die cuts, rubs on and stamp for the letter. This project certainly worked on getting through some of my stash!

Stamps: Simple serif alphabet (retired)
Inkpad: Basic black
Cardstock: Tempting turquoise, gumball green, melon mambo, daffodil delight, wisteria wonder, pumpkin pie, real red
Punches: Owl punch (eyes), 1/2" circle, 1 3/4" circle, 3/4" circle
