Australia Day

How did you spend your Australian Day? I spent mine with a quick session of crafting, a BBQ with family and a taking a few photos.

First up, the quick crafting. A couple more thank you cards for my stash. I used the colour coach to find my combination as a starting point, basic grey, pumpkin pie and real red. I couldn't decide which colour to put where in regards to the pumpkin pie and real red so I made two cards only with the colours opposite.

Today's card is proudly brought to you by the happy hello's simply sent kit and the vintage verses stamp set. Both sale-a-bration freebies this year.
I used all the kits contents and more. I modified the original card but chopping it (as I didn't want to use the "hello" sentiment that is on half of the cards, the other half has no wording) and layering it onto designer series paper and cardstock. The only problem is now my card doesn't fit in the original envelope provided with the simply sent kit. I'm sure I'll find a new use for it :) 
The flower on the front of the card was something I've had sitting around my desk for a while and I am now pleased I found a use for it.

Bloomin' marvelous

Today I've used the FREE sale-a-bration bloomin' marvelous stamp set to create another card. I made this card to enter into the "Spot the SAB stamp set" over at "Still addINKtive challenges". Each entry (up to 3) using Patterned Occasions, Pretty Petites, or Bloomin' Marvellous stamp sets is able to win a free template to create a shaped card based on 3 designs from the Patterned Occasions stamp set.

Feeling sentimental

I've finally got something to share after a week long blogging absence. Paint chip techniques class

For the first time ever (I think) I held a techniques class this month (usually I wait until February) but as most of my regulars were around we gave it ago. I was a little slack in prep and didn't get my sample up on before hand but here is what we made. The technique this month was paint chip.
