Miss Nikki had to sweetest thought the other day. To make a birthday card for her best friends mum. She made it all herself except for cutting the garden green/wild wasabi/crumb cake cardstock.I think she did a pretty good job, considering she's 8. She mastered the art of the framelits and the big shot easily. 

If you ever thought the big shot was too confusing or hard to use, I give you proof. If my kids can do it, anyone can (even my 5 year old has a go). Don't tell anyone, but often the kids help kit up my class kits for me (they love the extra pocket money)....

Birthday book again and matching card

Due to the business of my daughters social life, I've made another birthday book as a gift for a dear friend. The theme of the party was "blue" so I tried to echo it through into the card and book. I did add yellow though as the monochromatic blues just weren't working on their own.

Birthday card, made using my favourite design for kids birthday cards. Simple to add colour and very easy to add their age on the front.

Last week I taught my 3D ornament class... remember this sample from this post?

I made these following variations as further samples for the class
Using be of good cheer designer series paper 

 

Using different shaped stamp/framelits and snow flurry bigz die

Using ornament punch and festival of prints designer series paper stack

Using smaller stamps/framelits and different colours (rich razzleberry and tempting turquoise)

Class fee included making 1 complete stamped ornament, step by step instructions, a kit to complete a designer series paper ornament and a full pack of cherry cobbler tulle.

Due to popular demand I am repeating this class Friday, November 30th. Cost is $35 and bookings and a deposit are essential.

Scary birthday card

An excited boy in my house received an invitation to a scary birthday party recently. Thrilled to bits he wanted me to come up with a special card for the birthday boy.

Here's my attempt at scary, all punch art as I don't own ANY halloween-ey stamps at all! Inspiration for Dracula came from here. I brayered the background only to cover most of it up with punch art. Clever Ros, real clever.

Materials list:
Stamps: Simple serif alphabet and numbers (retired)
Cardstock: Glossy card, wisteria wonder, so saffron, daffodil delight, garden green, whisper white, basic black, real red, basic grey
Inkpads:  Wisteria wonder, so saffron, daffodil delight, garden green, whisper white, real red, basic grey
Punches: 1/2" circle, owl, heart to heart (retired), decorative label, 1 3/8" circle, corner rounder punch, bird punch, 5 petal flower, boho blossoms, pennant builder
Accessories: Basic grey stampin' write marker, sponge daubers, brayer, ink refills - night of navy, baja breeze, island indigo, big shot
Other: Sizzix grass die

Bag-a-lope

Remember the bag-a-lope I showed here (Drew's lolly bag for his Lego party?) Today, I'm sharing another bag-a-lope with you. For this one, I am using a C6 envelope but the sample I made for Drew's party I used an A5 envelope. Did you know our C6 envelopes are fantastic to stamp on? They are as smooth as our very vanilla/whisper white cardstock and the C6 envelopes come in both very vanilla and whisper white, cost is $10.95 for 40.
