Festive friday #15

On this Anzac day public holiday, I've squeezed in a little mothers day card creating using the current festive friday challenge.

The challenge was to use this photo as inspiration for a mothers day card.

I used the stunningly beautiful bordering on romance stamp set for my flowers.

I can't forget the pretty inside of the card now can I?

Great card making weather for today's Making Merry Monday, it's cold and raining here in Melbourne but terrible for school pick ups/drops offs.

Happy birthday Aunty Didi

My sister's birthday card (and yes, I call her Aunty Didi as that is what my kids call her! LOL)

The colour combination for todays card, is from the colour coach. My sister loves purple so I chose concord crush and worked with the colours suggested (tangerine tango and daffodil dalight). I also did a bargello style pattern for the design.

Happy birthday Miss B!

Well, my baby is officially 1 year older now! Yesterday we celebrated her 5th birthday (again). We did a family celebration at the end of the school holidays but yesterday was her actual birthday. I was so tired in the lead up to her birthday that I didn't make her a special birthday card. I pulled a card out of of my pre-made box. As frustrated as I was that I didn't make B a card "just for her", I was thankful I didn't go and buy her a store brought card. (So not me and doesn't seem right if I make cards for a living!)

I did however use some crafting talent to create some lolly boxes for her to hand out at school. Boy was B pleased as a punch to hand them out to everyone. I used the candy wrapper die from the carry over flyer to make each little lolly box. Each box has a freddo frog, a lolly and a balloon with room to spare!

With the help of my Thermomix, I made two cakes for her birthday this year (one for each celebration), a toblerone cheesecake (very yummy) and a rainbow buttercake.

As usual B was spoiled with lots of gifts and has increased her wardrobe and toy stash again :D I'm especially pleased with the wardrobe stash as B is growing like a worm at the moment. Were did my little girl go?

Crayon resist techniques class

For April's technique class I taught the crayon resist techniques. As usual, we made two cards and a sample card.

MMM #7

Yet another Making Merry Monday to share with you all. In case you haven't noticed my theme for this month, it is the designer series paper "Letters to Santa". Here's my 3rd card using the designer series paper.

Recyled jeans

Miss N had a close friends birthday party this week and I created yet another handmade book for a gift. I took a different turn to my "normal" books this time and made a book using a pair of old jeans that were once spoiled by bleach. I am thrilled how it turned out (as was Miss N) and her friend.

Close up of the fabric flower. I ran each flower piece through the big shot and different textured impressions embossing folders for an added effect.
