Mixed embossing

For today's card, I mixed embossing powders (cherry cobbler and pumpkin pie) for the delicate doilies stamps, on the front panel. Very similar to what I did on this card. For the inside, I used the rock and roll technique to achieve a similar look to the mixed embossing on the card front.

Project life - week 3

I'm really enjoying getting the weeks completed quickly after each week is over and sharing it. Not to mention the kids love seeing photos fill up the album and love having more and more pages to turn as time goes on.

Hexies

What does a pile of these give you?

 

An unfinished craft project and inspiration for a card! What feels like forever ago, I begun stitching a pile of hexagons together to create a journal cover (it's currently in a state of 3/4 completion). The pile of hexies have inspired today's card using the lovely FREE sale-a-bration designer series paper.

Pear crumble

For dessert tonight, I made pear crumble. I've never made it before but even the children who don't like pears enjoyed it. Handy that hubby brought a large box of pears at the local market recently. :D

 

Happy Birthday Fiona

It's my sister-in-laws birthday today (well one of them as I have three amazing sister-in-laws) :D

She's celebrating her ummm.... 24th? *snort* LOL, either which way, I hope you have a lovely day Fi and your pressie and card is in transit. (It's why I went with the "birthday wishes, a little bit late" stamp!)

Project life - week 2

Another week completed already! The days sometimes blend into one and another around here with the kids still on school holidays until early Feb.

This week documents my trip to the hospital, a birthday party for the girls, face painting, making cookies, gardening and lots more. I have included a copy of the invite the girls recieved to the above mentioned birthday party for two reasons. 1. Helps with the memory and 2. It makes it a lot easier to find parents phone numbers when trying to arrange play dates and also stops the kids searching for the phone numbers.

Nautical expedition

The nautical expedition designer series paper in the summer mini catalogue has some stunning designs that are begging to be fussy cut and made into a card. The below card is an example of fussy cutting the designer series paper. The large boat in the circle shape is hand cut from the designer series paper.

Festive Friday Challenge #1

Last week a new challenge blog begun called Festive Friday. It is run by Nicole Derendorf over here. Each Friday a new challenge is announced based on upcoming festive occasions on our calendars.

I used this card made by Madonna Dunn as my inspiration piece for my challenge entry. I took the two word stamp and lots of hearts as my focus points from Madonna's card. My card is a sweet little card, 3" x 3" in size, a perfect little gift card/love note.
