Making Merry Monday #26

How fast has July gone??? It is almost all over and us Aussies are over halfway through winter! Yay, bring on some more sun and warmth. Toady's card very much reminds me of a quilted panel. Had I had this done earlier, I could have also used it for my sewing theme.

Sketch Friday Frenzy SF072310

Today's card sketch was designed by Kim Innis. I honestly found this a struggle which seems a little strange as it is a simple sketch. I am sure once I see what everyone else has come up with, I will be blown away and inspired further.

 

I also took a few liberties with the sketch, I mirrored it and rotated it 180 degrees. The hippo and the balloons are to represent the squares.

If I am not posting much for the next week it is because I am super busy! I have a SAM challenge entry due, 3 making merry monday cards to create, 2 sketch friday frenzy cards, a birthday card for my Grandmother, 2 kids birthday cards for a fundraiser and instructions, July's pdf instructions for MMM and 25 hen's party invitations to finalise and create. Not to mention a chrio visit, two physio appointments, kids gymnastics, Auskick, my Grandmother's birthday party in Gippsland and packing for my trip to Thailand. Not whining here, just busy! :D

Making Merry Monday #25

Today is my eldest son's birthday! He's 7, OMG. He no longer needs to legally sit in a car seat in the car now in Australia, but shhhh, I won't be telling him that anytime soon. Anything to save the fighting between him and the younger kids.

I made Josh a lovely card for the Art with Heart "celebrations" blog hop back in June but it has been now sent off to be published. He'll have to make do with some nice words and the image on the computer screen.

He is going bowling this afternoon with some of his friends and back home for a mini party style dinner before dropping the boys off home. Talk about excited. So much so, Nikki is even planning her birthday which is still 3 months away.

After all my talking of Josh's birthday, I should probably show you today's MMM card seeing as that is why you are probably dropping by here...

Happy birthday to me!

Happy birthday to me, I turned 30 yesterday. I had a nice Saturday at home with a party and no kids to deal with the following morning (thanks Nanna and Grandma who are taking the kids home part way through my party.)

I received a stunning stash stash of presents. I received an iPad and OMG it is so good. I have had it for a few weeks now and I totally love it. Great for when you can't sleep at night, there is no need to get out of bed and go use the computer. LOL! I also received my plane ticket to Thailand in less than two weeks time, vouchers to a day spa x 2 (OMG, yay for me!), perfume, book voucher, a coles myer gift voucher from many Stampin' Up! lovies and some cash, from family and dear friends.

I have no photos from the party on my camera as my dSLR is in accident shock! Something happened to it before I picked it up to take photos at the party... My mum took a few photos along with my MIL but I have yet to get copies of those.

On the first of this month, I announced a make me a birthday card competition and I am pleased to announce the winner is Denise Whalley.

I have had quite a busy day today running errands and getting last minute supplies for my birthday party tomorrow. I am really looking forward to blog hopping tonight and see what everyone else on the team have done with this card sketch was designed by Kelli Waters.

I had so much fun with this sketch. At first I was like ahhh, but then it was loads of fun! A bit like Santa looks like he is having in the card! LOL!!!

Fish?

The original Davidson's (well my in laws and their 3 children) will often say "fish" when they have no idea as an answer to a question. Okay, so that first sentence is for my kid's benefit really, and maybe Aunty Fiona can answer the question as reads my blog... Today's card reminds me of that saying and knock knock jokes. Do you remember telling them as as a child? I remember telling them with my brother and cousin and we used to cack ourselves laughing at them. My eldest son Josh, is at the age now. He is beginning to tell knock knock jokes and finds them oh so funny. I am sure Josh will "get" this card, especially with being able to read and spell. I can't wait for him to come home from school and find out.

I made todays card using some instructions from Andrea Walford's online interactive class and I just couldn't wait to share the first card I made. I think this is a great card for children that are past "cute-sey" stuff. What do you think?

I have used some retiring colours from the colour renovation on this card (brilliant blue and going grey). Remember to get your orders in quick for colour renovation products as some products have already sold out!
