Women in our lives - blog hop

Blog hop time again. Has anyone guessed yet, I just love participating in blog hops! Today’s blog hop involves members from the "Art with Heart" team which is managed by Claire Daly. Only a small number of us are participating in todays blog hop but there is actually over 90 demonstrators  in the “Art with Heart” team  and we are spread all over Australia. We have a fantastic team forum, a business building club not to mention lots of friendly and supportive fellow demonstrators.

For Art with Hearts fourth blog hop, we are celebrating the women in our lives. I originally had a mother's day layout planned (which wasn't finished) but then my eldest daughter said a little gem at the dinner table tonight which I thought captures the main women in my daughters day to day life. Her prep teacher and myself.

The style of this scrapbook layout is called a progressive layout. It begins as a 6" x 6" page and then you add to it to create a 8.5" x 11" and again onto a 12" x 12" page. However, I only took mine up to a 8.5" x 11" page.

6" x 6" page: A drawing of myself and my daughter. She took great care with it including coming to check my eye colour before drawing. Hand stitching reads "Mum and me" which Nikki wrote out for me before bed.

8.5" x 11" page: Added a few more layers and colours of cardstock including the journaling where Nikki called me Miss Bennett (her teacher, Miss Mum and finally Mum.

Cardstock: Summer sun, pumpkin pie, tempting turquoise, whisper white, basic black

Accessories: Pink flamingo designer series paper

Other: DMC cotton, sewing machine cotton

Only one of mine...

I picked Drew up from Kinder this afternoon and he was wearing one black sneaker (on the wrong foot) and one green croc (his brother's non less). When I asked him why he was wearing two different shoes he answered "...but the other black one was lost!"

And to think my husband took him to kinder in two different pairs of shoes and didn;t even notice!

Kids kitchen

I’m hosting a ‘Kids Kitchen’ Tupperware party at my house this weekend (2pm Sunday, if your interested in joining us). The focus is with the kids cooking and having fun. I said to the kids that they could each invite a friend from school/kinder and that I'd given them an invite to hand out. I was given some Tupperware postcard style invites but for those that I didn't e-mail (slack I know) I made invites shaped like an apron.

 
All my kids are super excited, Nikki thinks it’s like having Masterchef at our place!

ESAD Mother's Day blog hop

Welcome back to another blog hop, this time it is an ESAD blog hop with the focus on Mother's day and the big shot. For those that are new visitors are are not sure what ESAD is, here we go. For my sample today, I have used the exclusive Stampin' Up! scallop envelope to create a box which a mini book my children kids made for their grandmothers. Each mini book features questions about Nanna/Grandma (with their answers) and drawings of each child with Nanna/Grandma.

I have a card published in the current issue of Scrapbook Creations (#77) and received my contributors copy of the magazine in the mail yesterday. I already have a copy of this issue and the previous issue as I have a subscription. I am happy to send the two magazines to the first two people who shout me, me (LOL)...
