Not happy jan...

I updated the retiring list of stamps and accessories this morning. See this post for up to date info. Also just a quick note that sale-a-bration ends on Friday 29th. Been quite busy the last few days, had 2 workshops over the weekend as well as Nat working so if I wasn't busy selling Stampin' Up! I was busy cooking...

Here's my take on Beate's weekend sketch challenge #36.

I have been asked by a friend to make some mother's day and wedding cards. I have done 3 so far but was meant to be doing some last night. That was before Nikki and Drew decided to decorate the lounge room. All while Josh was asleep and I was helping Fiona, my new recruit with online ordering for Stampin' Up! I ask, is there ever going to be a good time to work in my house without being distracted by fights, questions or phone calls?

To top off things, Nikki and Drew did a wee on the carpet and I had no vaccum cleaner bags left... Not happy jan I tell you!

Been busy

Just a post I started last week but took my time taking photos of the work.

Been ever so busy cleaning of late. I had the "shakes" and didn't know what to do with myself so I cleaned to redirect the negative energy (or something.) I now have a very clean linen press and a tidy walk in wardrobe, and Diabetes Australia now have 5 1/2 garbage bags of clothing etc. donated to them for good use. It felt good to tidy it all up and now those two areas look nice and clean. Need to work on the rest of the house but need a break first!

Managed to get a couple of the things swirling around in my head down on paper. Still part way through some more before I got distracted and started something new... Naughty naughty me. Currently working on so cards etc. for some mag work hopefully. Also sent off a bunch of e-mails last night, hoping for a positive response soon! Always nice when getting paid to be crafty.

Also, in doing my clean up, I realised I had a 12 x 12 stitched birdies page I have done that I am willing to sell. It is on black bazzill with the same coloured birds as on the warning layout shown below. I will sell this with 3, 12 x 12 sheets of BG pp - japenese tea garden, sausalito & embarcadero all from the Pheobe rang. Also includes the words "warning" die cut in notepad sizzix font in embarcadero colour inked with black and Heidi Swapp white chipbaord letters spelling "may cause cluckiness".

Selling for $25 plus postage.

Also have a card using same papers that I made for Becky Fleck's card sketch a little while ago. Card is $6 plus postage.

If no one is interested I'll list these items on ebay. I just thought I'd see if anyone wanted them before listing them on ebay.

Okay, okay so I don't have a title

I have written this post before and lost it! Damm internet and stupid dial up speed for no reason (all fixed now, thank goodness.)

I have been busy with workshops, technqiue cards, cooking and the odd card or two of late. So I aplogise for not posting. I am now cooking dinner for two of Nat's work mates. (they pay for me for, and I love the extra pocket money!) Not only that I have been trying to meal plan and shop according as to not have to go to the shop as often... Worked really well except for when you forget to take the list to Aldi! LOL... nothing like a shopping trip with Nat, all the kids and myself. We spent $183, and took 33 minutes to shop and pack the card and be on our way again. Not sure if that is good or bad to be honest.

I have another workshop this afternoon, (I am loving sale-a-bration) as who doesn't love getting a free sale-a-bration stamp set when they spend multiples of $100.

I now have one recruit, with a possible second one in the wings, anyone want to be my third? Don't forget my special offer, on this post.

Last but not least, I will share you with a card I made when I first started trying some new techniques. I love every 2nd friday, (I try to do it each friday if I can) as I mess up the kitchen table, don't do a lot of motherhood or housewifish duties and concentrate on making a mess and playing. I made this card using the shattered glass technique and it will be one of the cards made in my technique classes (see this post).

Materials list:

Conned by a 3 year old...

Nikki is having a sleepover at Grandma’s house as it is her turn (apparently). Grandma and Nikki went shopping today and while they were at Target, Nikki made a beeline for the boogie boards (which she calls surf boards) and said to Grandma “I haven’t got one of those!” Meanwhile a phone call home to me got no answer as I was out at playgroup with the other kids and back to Target they went to purchase said “surf board”. A very happy Nikki in the car on the way home told Grandma “I’ve got 2 now! I’ve got a yellow* one which I don’t like, and a pink one, which I LOVE!” Now, that is how you get conned by a 3 year old... Sad isn’t it, at 3, she already knows how to work Grandma! LOL

* Nikki’s boogie board is actually blue and pink NOT yellow

Yesterday I was told the kids I had a chiropractor appointment to which they each replied with an unorthodox way of saying chiropractor

Technique classes

Okay so I have finally gotten organised and set a date for my technique classes. It will be the first Friday morning every month at 10am - midday.

March 7th

April 4th

May 2nd

June 6th

July 4th

August 1st

September 5th

October 3rd

November 7th

December 5th

Evening classes will be the 2nd Tuesday of the month (for the moment) 7.30pm - 9.30pm March 11th

(Nat has been given 8 weeks notice that his roster is changing and we don't know to what, so when I know I will then book further evening classes).

Each month will focus on a specific technique (for example faux leather, see card below) and we will make 2 cards* and a techniques instruction card for $15.00. The only other way to get a technique card is by booking a workshop with me. Call 9786 1149 or e-mail me if you are interested in either booking a workshop or booking into my techniques class.
