Yesterday Nikki was awarded citizen of the term at school. She was so excited and pleased and we were super proud of her.
I've got a couple of snapshots to share and I think my favourite one is where Drew is giving her a cuddle congratulating her. Totally unprompted but oh so sweet.

I'm blog hopping with a bunch of crafty friends again this weekend. Our theme for this month is designer series paper. I am a terrible DSP hoarder. Often I don't want to cut into a piece of 12 x 12 and "ruin" it... How silly am I? Taking this months theme I am diving head first into my DSP stash. I've made a card featuring a dahlia folded flower in the centre panel.

I was practising my distressing techniques the other day and made this super cute little love note (3 x 3) card.
I tore the paper for a distressed edge (using the tearing ruler) and rough-ed up the edges of the wide oval punch with the cutter kit.
Materials list:
Stamps: French foliage (autumn/winter mini catalogue), bring on the cake (autumn/winter mini catalogue)
Ink: Basic black, crumb cake, sahara sand
Cardstock: Very vanilla, crumb cake
Punches: Wide oval
Accessories: Tearing ruler, cutter kit, linen thread, lots of tags sizzlets dies, stampin' dimensionals, love letter designer series paper

I am sure I have mentioned previously that I am taking a photo each day this year, Project Life style. I get my photos printed overseas and do big batches of them and have from March onwards to print (and the one missing pic from January). Totally the reason I haven't shared the spreads till now I am sure. Mini update from each month and a photo collage.

- Measured and weighed the kids, the boys both lost weight and grew 1cm taller

Nikki (6) wrote me a song recently and even sung it to me (I wish I'd thought to get photos of her singing it at the time....)
It was beautiful to hear (and read her unique attempts at spelling) especially when having a trouble-some day with other children. Moments like these make up for all the long days of difficult children.
I think your pretty and when I see you, you have fun with me.
I like everyone and my mum and my dad
You make me happy when I see you are happy too
So I love you, everyone too.
I keep on forgetting to ask her the title of her song but the paper she wrote it on is in my Project Life album waiting to be scrapped. It's a keeper for sure!

My latest proud Mummy moment is that my two eldest kids, Josh and Nikki have both been entered into a nation wide art competition. Only 8 students from their school where chosen and I've got 2 of them living in this house! Wow-ee. I can't wait for the results to be announced (June 22nd) and for their books to arrive with their artwork in print. Not to mention the plaque prints of their artwork that we can hang up to admire for many years to come.
